This is a powerful and wonderful tool. It is surprising that more people do not use a flame weeder and this is clearly a top model--I cannot compare it directly to others because I have used no other brands, but this is extremely well made. I used it to treat all the cracks in a 20' wide, over 100' long driveway with lots of weeds in the cracks and two days later everything was dead. I could only find three very small spots of green plant I had probably missed. It is much quicker to use a weed flamer than spaying because you only need to move slowly over the area treated moving ahead as the plants begin to wilt.

I like the way it works and stays lit, can control the amount of heat as well as the smaller ones, components seem professional grade. Rather expensive and no self igniter and not real easy to put together.

This is a heavy duty yard tool. This is my second weed burner, the first is no match to this one. This thing will stand up to a lot of abuse around the yard. Easy assembly, great flame control and tough.

Tried and tried several times, read and re-read instructions, even looked at setup videosassembled and dis-assembled multi timescould NOT get it to work as advertised, ONLY getting a Weak/Wimpy flame,Suspect unit to be defective,returning for a refund.

This weed burner is great! I was really surprised at the amount of heat that it generates with the propane tank valve barely opened! I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to friends/loved ones.Suggestion: when you pass over something that you want dead don't stay in one area too long or you'll quickly be in need of a bucket of water or a garden hose!FYI if you are a propane accessory noob like I am, the tank end of the hose gets threaded inside of the valve coupler as opposed to outside of it like a propane grill would. Regular propane tanks from any gas station, grocery store, etc. DO work with this.

After years of pulling firmly rooted weeds from a 1-acre gravel bed by hand, I got the Red Dragon. Works fabulously, like a highly controlled blow torch that allows one to burn one weed to the next. My wife is always at hand with a water hose because we live in a dry and high fire risk area, and it is an advised caution, but the precision of the burner gives one control, and it is easy to modulate the flame too. What used to take me 57 hours and was brutal on my fingers now takes about 10 hours without blisters and bruising.

It works great but I got toooo close to some shrubs and the heat not the torch fried them. Didn't realize it till after I walked away. Some shrubs and plants are very very sensitive to heat. The wife nearly torched me!! But, it didn't kill the darn dandelion.

Earlier today I received my Red Dragon propane torch # VT 3-30 SVC. These are manufactured in the United States by Flame Engineering. I originally bought a chinese made torch that was a total piece of junk. The flame on the chinese torch was constantly going out and the squeeze handle valve didn't work right so I returned it the very next day. This red dragon torch is built like a tank operates flawlessly. We are having 15 to 20 mph winds today and I just used the torch for the last hour and the flame never blew out. The only issue I had was the torch was shipped with the wrong hose but I was able to assemble and use it anyway with an adapter I already had in my workshop. I emailed the company regarding the hose and 25 minutes later they called and said they are shipping out the correct hose for me first thing tomorrow morning. My opinion is if you want a quality torch that doesn't give you constant problems and comes with excellent customer service then spend the extra money and buy a red dragon. You will be much happier and headache free with this torch than an inferior chinese import.
