I Am Pleasently Surprised...
So, I'm an IT guy and one of the special services I offer my clients (as a courtesy) who are concerned about Privacy and EMF toxicity with cell phones, is replacement Unlocked AT&T compatible phones that work on Consumer Cellular (AT&T) that I custom config for elevated privacy and reduced EMFs. This really is more of a fun thing I like to do for my long term clients whom I'm also fond of. The beauty of AOSP is that it is basically the Open Source side of Android development that any Phone Maker or Carrier can custom configure for their purposes which lean, in some cases, pretty heavily towards personal Data Collection, by running many things in the background which cause most cell phone to constantly be active thereby oft running hot and emitting constant EMF (microwave) frequencies, reducing battery life, reducing their lifespan and well, in essence frying us a little bit to hear it told. So the beauty of AOSP based cell phones is that many of the Apps that otherwise run in the background, can be disabled for the most part, leaving only Apps that each user needs and thus lowering EMFs, reducing temperature, increasing battery life and duty as well increasing phone lifespan. Ok enough tech talk... Enter the NUU A25. This is a lovely phone with good specs, a beautiful screen and priced at what I think makes it one of the best dollar values for a phone of this caliber to be had here in the States at $150. NUU states that the phone will NOT work on Consumer Cellular but where I abide, Consumer Cellular is on the AT&T network and so my test NUU A25 works beautifully without an issue I can find. The phone instantly and perfectly activated the moment I powered the phone back on after installing the SIM card! I personally loved AOSP Android 10 due to it's simplicity, configurability, beauty and ease of use etc > fast forward to today and the latest Android OS' have so many silly waste of time things as well a big reduction in Beauty and attractiveness in the Interface but this NUU A25 with Android 13 is Lovely! Crisp icons, visuals are excellent and then add to this the AMOLED screen and you've a wonderful phone that is most enjoyable to use for the most part. NUU even thru in some attractive theme options that add to the improved use and attractiveness of the device. Also fixed up the phone with what looks like an excellent camera with lots of configuration options and pretty high resolution! I know this is a sticky topic but in my area, most people are NOT in favor of 5G, feeling that it does not serve the spread out nature of the area as well is considered quite toxic in terms of EMF and personal health. I can't site an studies around this but because my clients are concerned, I am also concerned and the NUU A25 appears to be a 4G phone without ability with 5G and I noticed when working on the phone that my hand does Not ache the way it does when I have to work on a 5G phone. Overall, I am very pleased and consider this one of the best Phone values at $150 there is and encourage you all to give it a try, remembering that there are a lot of carrier issues everywhere so your experience might Not be as good as mine so please consider NOT diss NUU if this happens to you. Fact is cell phone makers can only accommodate so many carriers in each device. And NUU, you all did a great job on this phone, well done but please keep the price so it stays one of the best values there is and please keep making these and offering them on Amazon with Android13!

Bought this for gaming, love it.
I got tired of my daily driver, a Pixel 6a, being crammed full everytime I updated PubG and CoD. I saw this and decided to take a chance and it paid off immediately. As long as you care about keeping the highest frame rate, it's competitively responsive. My Pixel 6a Google Tensor hardware has it outmatched in picture quality, but the Nuu A25 has twice the framerate (60 fps vs 120 fps). The touchscreen on the A25 is more accurate and responsive than the Pixel 6a's weird touchscreen. Because of this, games are just fun now. The frustrating days of a small screen and questionable touch sensitivity are behind me as I can give my Pixel 6a a break. I was also very pleased to see the clear case in the box and noticed that it came with the screen protector factory installed. I wish all manufacturers did that because I detest how prone screen protectors are to trapped bubbles and show dust/lint despite fastidious pre-cleaning. I haven't bothered to put a sim card in. I use it on wifi or mobile hotspot. My only complaint is that there is no stereo sound output from the phone itself. It has a single speaker at the bottom edge of the phone, so I recommend headphones. It plays well with my Anker Soundcore earbuds so I'm satisfied with that. If I do decide to use the 3.5mm jack, I will just use a headphone preamp anyway. That being said, it does what I want it to do and meets my needs. It's an impressive piece of kit at an excellent price. Five stars for the capabilities at the price point. I recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable mobile phone to scratch the gaming itch. You can't find better at this price and it's got enough hardware grunt where it counts in FPS type games.

Decent mid-range smartphone
I got this NUU A26 unlocked smartphone for my 2nd phone line. It's overall a pretty good smartphone. It has 120 hertz screen refresh rate, under the screen fingerprint unlocking, 6 gigs of RAM and decent size around 6.7 inches. It most likely will not compete against pricier smartphones like Samsung "S" series, Vivo smartphones or other high ended smartphones, but it's a decent mid-range smartphone that works very well for me. Photo qualities are not that good up close, but outdoor daylight scenic photos are very nice with this camera. No wide angle OR telephoto lens on this smartphone's camera set up at all. Video qualities are really not too bad. Finding phone cases for these NUU smartphones are a hassle, but you get a basic clear plastic/silicone case with your new NUU smartphone and that's what I use on my new NUU smartphone A26. It works on T-Mobile and Mint Mobile very well. Android 14 is on my phone. Not sure how many security and Android updates you get with these NUU smartphones. Time well tell I guess. Overall, I rate this new NUU A26 smartphone 4 of 5 stars. Only issues I have is lack of wide angle and telephoto lens on the camera set up and hard to find decent cases for these NUU smartphones. Otherwise, a delightful upper lower or lower mid-range smartphone to own for under $160.

It's only 4g, great battery live and light
There is not better bang for the buck, I got this for business and it hits and delivers. The display matches flagship phones in my opinion. It is 4g only however the sheer price for the quality of what is there is amazing, under the screen finger print censor that works, camera quality is workable, if you don't need to zoom but need to take a lot of good pictures you are good. I came from a galaxy s22 ultra, this is the better phone. It even plays mobile legends BB well enough for my 5 year old to get 5 wins in a row. Buy it, the people making these phones deserve it on quality alone.

It was OK at first......
I spent weeks searching the internet for a good, unlocked, dual sim phone. Tired of carrying TWO phones (one for my ministry and another for my personal cell phone number), I finally chose this NUU A25 based on overall reviews and price point. I have been using this phone since purchasing it approximately 6 months ago. I am absolutely *not* new to using a cell phone or adapting when switching over to a replacement or new phone. So, here is my very thoughtful review from a very average (professional person) user: *SIZE* The phone size is nice. It is nicely in that "between" space of being too large and not too small. I am finding this phone to be comfortable in my hand, jacket or pant pocket while not needing it's own shopping bag to carry around. *WEIGHT* Fairly substantial for a phone of this size, which is also something I appreciate about this phone. I can carry it comfortably in a cross body shoulder bag or in the back pocket of my jeans without an issue. *TOUCH RESPONSE ON SCREEN* The screen is clear and..... hyper responsive. Sometimes. After about 6 months I am finding that this phone is *sometimes* responsive on the first touch, sometimes not even with a freshly cleaned screen. I am also finding that if I have any other finger in my holding hand anywhere near the edge of the screen, my touch response doesn't respond because it is registering I am already in contact with the screen. This is super annoying! *SCREEN LOOK/REFRESH* -Decent! I have not had any trouble with crispness of color or refresh rates on this phone. -I have found that having three available home screens has been ample for me, especially that I can put similar apps in the same "folder" and these three screens give me enough space to sort and separate apps as I need. -I also like the choice of how many icons across I can have on my home screens, which gives me more space for apps that I more frequently use for my ministry *and* my personal use on the first home screen. *VOLUME* -Not as great as most other phones. Adjusting volume is easy for phone calls with the volume button on the side, but there is a secondary volume adjustment when I push the volume button I cannot figure out how to control from the screen- or even know what it's for. Kind of irritating. -Even at the highest speaker volume, hearing podcasts while driving in my car is a challenge unless I Bluetooth it through my car's system-- which seems very difficult to do with this phone, unlike my Samsung. After 6 months of trying to get my NUU & my Honda to cooperate, I called a truce. *USER FRIENDLINESS* I am frustrated the most in this area with this phone (the most important part of using a cell phone!)-- hence the three stars. -On my previous phone I had the option to independently adjust notification and ringtone sounds. This phone DOES NOT allow for that. When you adjust one, you've also adjusted the other. There's no separating these. -I am having a tough time trying to figure out how to set separate notification tones for my most important apps and contacts. My Samsung made this a breeze. -My phone keeps asking me to "restrict some applications" and automatically decides for me which apps to put into "sleep" mode based on my usage. Whatever happened to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and letting the user decide that?!? My Samsung never did this. -Good luck porting any pictures from my phone to my laptop or desktop! My desktop will *not* recognize my phone or import any pictures from my phone, despite me asking all the best experienced techies (read: the teens in my circle) how to go about doing this. They cannot figure it out either. Which causes me to have to use a thumb drive for my phone to d/l pictures in order to be able to upload them to my laptop or desktop. An extra step I would rather avoid wasting time on. -It took me a hot minute to navigate adding new contacts into this phone. Seems like there are a few extra clicks to make before I can do that (or maybe it's just operator fumbling LOL). But again, I *easily* navigated this on my old Samsung. -As to importing pictures from my previous phone.... It required the big leagues at Best Buy to help me with this. Yes, really. I followed all the steps the NUU phone told me to take to transfer files and pictures from my Samsung. I tried three different ways, several times on each attempt. No bueno. Nada. Zipado. The big zero. Nope, not happening. Even the fine gents at Best Buy had a difficult time trying to figure this out & couldn't make it happen easily or smoothly-- & that says something. As a result, only about 1/3 of my files and pictures made it to my NUU from my Samsung (and no, i do *not* store a thing from my phone on some random "cloud"). So, that meant putting all my files & pictures on my phone thumb drive and importing from there or, again, carrying two phones when necessary. *DUAL SIM ACCESS* In a word... UGH. Getting calls in on my phone on my second sim is fine. *Making* calls from that second sim is another thing altogether because navigation to that second sim is awkward at best. Perhaps, again, this is operator error, but I have read other reviews that mention the same issue. *OVERALL* It seems that this phone makes some sacrifices in user friendliness for the dual sim capability it offers. The price point is decent on this phone (one of the reasons I opted in for it), but the user difficulties, sound/sound control issues & touch screen issues-- among other reasons aforementioned- are enough to drive me back to Samsung & carry two phones or have my second number simply forwarded to my primary phone with a different ringtone assigned to it. If you're more techno savvy than most you might find this phone a good deal. If you're in my situation, you might be well advised to move on to another option. Three stars for all the reasons above.

Great Phone
I am extremely happy with my phone purchase. The camera is much better than in my old phone, the colors are bold and clear. I had alot of trouble calling and receiving calls on my old phone, and now that is no longer a problem. There is no operating manual in the box, if your not familiar with the startup and transfer of items from your old phone to the new one, you will have to go on line to get that info. It was a very simple process of connecting both phones to one another and transferring your items. It has a fast charge block, so you don't have to wait all day. I would recommend this phone for anyone who just wants a reliable phone to text, call, take pictures, and surf the net and play a few games. The price is very affordable for the quality of phone you get. Much more economical than going to the Carrier and buying a phone not as good and paying more for it.

POSSIBLY THE BEST SUB-$200 ANDROID PHONE ON THE MARKET
UPDATE 5/29/25: Original review is below and still stands. Coming up on one year now since purchasing this phone and it's STILL WORKING GREAT! I have zero complaints with this phone and STILL think it's probably the best sub-$200 Android phone on the market. Paid about $150 for this bad boy and consider it a very good purchase. For that kind of money for a phone that works great, takes a beating, has a decent amount of features....I mean, how can you beat that? So, still a happy camper here. :) A quick review here of the NUU A 25 sub-$200 Android phone based on a few days of operation. (Longevity review comes later). Arrived on time, well boxed, had all accessories needed in the box to go with the phone: soft cover rubbery-like crystal clear case -- preferred because it takes the shock of a phone drop on pavement much better than a hard cover case ergo protects the innards of the phone better. Plus a quick-charger plus cord for it, screen protector already applied plus a useless manual that my brother’s 8-year old kid could have done a better job of writing, plus the most important thing: a fifth of VERY EXPENSIVE Irish whiskey. (Just kidding: the manual wasn’t that badly written.) Transfer of data from previous Android phone (I used Wi-Fi as we didn't have a c-to-c cord) took a while because of a few glitches, mostly my fault. Too long to get into. TIP ON DATA TRANSFER A solid tip here to save you time with data transfer: if you are transferring data from an old Android phone AND you are still using the same wireless carrier as was used with the old phone, then BEFORE you start data transfer: 1. Power both phones off. 2. Remove SIMM card from the old phone. 3. Place that old phone SIMM card INTO the SIMM card slot of the new NUU A 25 phone. (At this juncture I also took the opportunity to put a new 256G Micro-SD card into the 2nd SIMM card slot of the A25 as I knew I’d need it eventually.) 4. Power both phones back up. The new A25 phone will then read that SIMM card from your old phone and...WHALA! All your settings for you’re ongoing monthly phone contract, all your contact info you gave them for the first time-set up, the email address attached to the old phone, any auto-withdrawal setups of money to pay the monthly fee ….all of it is now nicely packed into the new A25 phone! You don't need to do a thing on that front. Your carrier (Cricket Wireless in our case) instantly recognizes you and your data as if you’d never left your old phone. All is same as it was before. 5. Then proceed with data transfer of photos, apps etc. using a cord or Wi-Fi. There’s YouTube videos that show the process. THE PHONE ITSELF To the phone itself: in a nutshell I was blown away that this thing is a sub-$200 phone. The fact that we paid only about $140 for a phone of this quality (after a $40-off coupon on Amazon was deducted at payment stage) is nothing short of stunning. This bad boy is plenty fast (be sure and set it for the 120Hz refresh rate) with a brilliant screen, very good colors (which you can adjust to your liking in a variety of ways) pretty darned good built-in speaker, plenty of RAM and storage for any normal adult human and basically all the standard bells and whistles in the right places. I’ve read some reviews where people griped a bit about photo quality, the sound etc. That is nonsense. Folks, we’re talking about a sub-$200 BRAND NEW Android phone that looks, walks, talks and sings almost as good as any $500 to $500 phone I’ve come across. Any gripes about “photo quality” or how it sounds is sheer nit-picking by somebody comparing it to a much more expensive phone. If you HAVE TO HAVE great, professional-grade photos then go buy a camera….or a $1,000 phone. Duh. HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH iPhone 10 We have a family member who has an iPhone 10 that is still in great shape. After playing awhile with this NUU A25 – which has a bigger screen, is brighter (much better screen and colors to my eye than what’s on that iPhone 10) and just about as fast at that iPhone 10 – she says if her iPhone busted tomorrow she’d have no qualms about buying one of these A25’s to replace it. She could not believe I paid $140 for this. So to sum it up: if you can find a higher quality sub-$200 Android phone than this one, you’re a better man than me. All props to the folks at NUU. I don’t know how you pulled this off at this price point but me a happy a camper (at least right now) that you did. Cheers! :)
