Huanyang VFD,Single to 3 Phase,Variable Frequency Drive,3kW 4HP 220V-230V Input/Output AC 13A for Motor/Spindle Speed Control,HY Series

I used this for my 2 kW motor on a belt sander and it works great. Relatively easy to program too. You can disconnect the face controls and use a long ribbon cable to keep the VFD in a cabinet and have the controls outside in a 3D printed housing. Still, it isn't immune to dust. Make sure to blow it out every so often with an air compressor. The first one lasted 5 years and would have lasted longer if I took care of it. I got another one and will keep it maintained.

I was worried about programming this, but it wasn't hard at all. The manual is pretty clear. I did have a single point of misunderstanding but support answered it quickly. I used remote switches on my mill to go forward,reverse,and stop... And I put a potentiometer atop the box. I mis wired the potentiometer , and tech explained the correct wiring and got me going. Very happy with it so far as it has worked great, and my milling is much more accurate with speed control , I can power tap without my tapping head. Awesome, wish I had done this much sooner.

Pop smoked in under 30 seconds. I got the 1.5kw 2hp model. I adjusted the speed up to 120hz. The motor was running fine no load. Switched the display to amps and loaded the machine Right about when I reached 7 amps the motor slows down drastically and the vfd pop smoked. Dead to the world. Should have faulted out not let out the magic smoke. I took it apart and looked inside to see the area that vaporized was a strip on the printed circuit board that must have been too small for the intended load so the builder blobbed a snail trail of Solder all along the path from the imput terminal to the leg of the rectifier in a vain attempt to increase the ampacity. What a joke.

The price point is very appealing for sure but it gets better from there. All functions with this unit work. The motor can ramp up to speed by your determined seconds of time as well decelerationYou can program the max RPMIt will display the RPM, Amps. Forward, Reverse, and Power on.Only if it would turn off the VFD fan runs and lighted display say on when stopping the VFD you have to unplug it or install a inline switch to disconnect the VFDit’s about as good as it gets for VFD and $$$ small price for such great driveNot sure on how long it will last most YouTube video’s like it as well

Bought this for an upgrade to my Onefinity CNC router.Not only did I not find any solid information on basic programming parameters, I looked in the manual, which while being written in almost grammatical correctness, it was still like decrypting ancient Egyptian heiroglyphic jokes that were reliant on the situation at the time they were written to understand the information.I've reached out for help in multiple forums and am almost to the point where it is functioning the way it should, but this thing is a monster!Oh! Make sure you don't ever hook the spindle to it before you finish programming and lock the settings!!Multiple forum members have shared horror stories about how they fried their spindle or the VFD simply by making that mistake!

I don't know if my unit was the only one to ship like this, but the setting for locking out program changes was engaged out of the box. I didn't even know there was a setting for this until I watched a YouTube video on the subject. After realizing that, I was able to program it with no issues. The manual is not well written.The little 40mm fan runs constantly on it, which is very loud when your machine is not operating, but you can modify the fan with a thermostat to control that if you wish. I just installed a 2P2T switch on the 220V input so I can shut it down when I don't need it. The input/output terminals on the circuit board are tiny, You can modify 12awg clips to fit them, but since this model is only 2.2KW, you can realistically run 14awg wire.The last nitpick is that the start and stop buttons sometimes don't seem to respond. Sometimes I push them and nothing happens. If you're intending to use this on a cabinet saw, for safety reasons I'd recommend purchasing an additional paddle switch to remotely control the VFD. Other than that, it has worked well.

Does everything I expected to do. Used for a 3 phase 2 HP motor for a belt grinder. Programming is a bit confusing at first, but once you understand it it's no big deal.

Had a 5 year old version of this VFD stop working. Ordered this unit as a drop in replacement. Within 10 minutes, had the wires transferred from the old drive, and the new one programmed. Tip: use the videos from online to help program. The included instructions are not great.
