DK Readers L1: Star Wars: Tatooine Adventures (DK Readers Level 1)

I have bought numerous of these little readers (labeled from Pre-Level I to Level 4) for the children I know and the kids get very excited when they receive them. In addition to Star Wars, the graded readers cover diverse subjects, including wild animals, earthquakes, weather, astronomy, etc.A family of three children (ranging in ages from four to nine) recently moved in across from me. They arrived from Africa a few months ago so everything is new and exciting for them, and they read and write well. The numbered books served as a great welcome gift that they've enjoyed. That got me thinking that if others do the same, place a few little books in the hands of enthusiastic children, it might help to get more children interested in reading books. Considering that some parents don't purchase books for their kids, such gifts can ignite young minds to understand the value of a book.

Great book. It is nice because first graders can carry these everywhere and feel like the big kids who carry around their chapter books with monsters, warriors, and dragons on them. So this whole series is great. I also recommend hooked on phonics. Our son was struggling with reading and HOP is awesome because it forces the kids to really look at the words and really decode. It is an entire program. The best $50 we have spent.

A fine way to introduce children to Star Wars.

We keep over 100 books on our grandsons shelves at any one time. He enjoys reading about 3-5 books per night and we have done this since he was very young. You never know which book they will enjoy most and when he grows out of them we pass them to family and friends.

My son had some trouble learning to read, so I got him this (and a few other star wars dk readers) to give him some enthusiasm. They helped quite a bit. The only issue is the lack of a story line. He did enjoy them, though, and we gave them to his teacher for the next little boy who love star wars.

Recommend this book for any early readers who love Star Wars. The content is true to the movies, but without any violence or intense scenes. My 6-year-old loves to read it, and my 3-year-old loves to listen.

I had to order for my son's school since they claimed he lost it and wanted 15$ for it. with s/h I paid $4 here..... after buying it, they found it their copy so now it ours to keep

My 5 year old son loves this book. We read it almost every night before bed
