Great for a Star Wars fan
It gives a synopsis of the first 3 movies (4,5,&6) on a child’s level that anyone can understand. It helped me “get” the Star Wars universe better than the movies! Highly recommend for anyone in a family of Star Wars nerds!!

Level 2 reading, real photos
My son LOVES this book! His favorite part was that the book had actual pictures from the movies and not cartoon drawings. Perfect for learning and growing readers.

Great idea for a reading series
My son is 5 years old and enjoys reading. He loves everything "Star Wars", so this was a match made in heaven. We ordered about 8 books in the level 2 and level 3 stages related to Star Wars, and he loves them. They are perfect for a child that has already begun reading, as the text is large and clear, and there are also colorful pictures contained from scenes of the various movies. The books also chronicle the plot lines of the stories, so if your child has seen any of the movies, it is even easier to follow along.

Best way to motivate a reluctant reader
Great books! My son HATED reading and I was getting desperate. I was starting to wonder if he was switched at the hospital because my husband and I are avid readers. Out of panic that my son would grow up illiterate I bought a bunch of these books along with the "Star Wars: Phonics Boxed Set" Tah dah...no DNA test needed! My little guy is reading EVERYTHING. These books built his confidence and now he grabs books and reads to the dog all on his own. I hope you have as much success with these as we did.

Perfect for my kindergarten reader
Perfect for my kindergarten reader. It's hard for him but he loves Star Wars so it is great motivation. The book seems well made and sturdy for a paperback.

4 Stars Because These Can Motivate Kids to Sit Down and Read
~ borrowed from the LibraryDK's THE ADVENTURES OF HAN SOLO is at the beginning 4th Grade reading level.Like many DK Readers about Star Wars, this book features a lot of great photos. What I don't understand is why the language always sounds so stilted. Many popular Young Adult books are at the 4th grade reading level --TWILIGHT is at the 4th grade reading level -- so why can't these DK books for elementary aged kids read better than they do?!?Well, regardless it won't matter to most kids that the language is so stiff because the book is about a favorite franchise and characters. There's actually a lot of fun information in this book. Info about the Millennium Falcon, Chewie, and Han and the gang. Children will read, for example, about how Shyriiwook is the language Wookiees and Han speak. Han knows this language because he was raised by a Wookiee called Dewlanna. The book mixes in some exciting elements by reminding children of incidents from the movies and books. Here's some sample text from a page:Oh no -- it's Jabba the Hutt!Jabba is a powerful crime lord.Han used to smuggle for Jabba. On one trip Han lost Jabba'scargo and Jabba wasn't happy!STAR WARS in general and these DK books can be great motivators to get kids to sit down and read. And they are books children frequently read more than once. They also have the advantage of being at most libraries.**Teachers should note that there is an Accelerated Reader test available for this book.

Great for 5 year olds!
Gave to my 5 year old nephew and he seems to love it! He sat there flipping through on his own and will be great as he learns to read on his own, plus it's a great price! :)

General Solo we need you!
Content: A potted history of Han Solo, from 'A New Hope' to 'Return of the Jedi'. With some additional information about his back story eg he was brought up by a Wookie. An introduction to the main characters of the Star Wars stories.Layout: Information text with call out boxes, to add further information, as an aside e.g; 'the death star' and 'bounty hunter'. Illustrated throughout with stills from the films. Starts with a simple index. Ends with a glossary of unusual sci-fi words e.g Sabacc, tentacle. Has a 'I have read this book' tick box at the end.Text: Level 2 DK reader, simple text with some longer words and sentences. Each new character is introduced with 'This is ...' followed by a short description. Our 5 year old loves to have them read to him, although he can also recognise quite a few high frequency words. A year 1 or year 2 child would need above average reading ability, to read alone. May also suit older kids wanting something more exciting or just different to the scheme books brought home from school.Favourite Bit: Good length for bedtime story. Found out that Han speaks Shyriiwook (Wookie language). Great reading motivation for any young Star Wars fan.

KS1 early readers
An excellent and engaging book for my 5 year old son. With glossy, bright pages and large print. He has enjoyed reading this book during the summer break and has kept him interested in reading whilst having time away from school. This book was bought alongside 2 more in the series and I must admit that I too have enjoyed listening to the stories and have learned a lot about the Star Wars characters. I highly recommend this book for budding readers ( girls and boys) who are Star Wars fans. Good value for money.

Excellent way to get children interested in learning to read
Excellent way to get children interested in learning to read! My son loves these books & I find the skill level accurate with what level they are supposed to be for. I will most definitely be buying more of these in the near future.

Good for readers just getting confident to read alone.
I bought these books after they were recommended to me by a friend, for my 5 year old grandson. He loves Star Wars, so it was no troubdle getting him interested. My only criticism is that the first book was very easy, he enjoyed reading it and was ready for more. But the subsequent books seemed to get very hard too quickly and proved to be rather a struggle. He's now 6 and a better reader, so I'll ask his mum to get them out again and have another go.

Great for a four year old Star Wars fan
I bought this for my four year old grandson who is an enthusiastic "Star Wars" fan. He really loved it. There are plenty of pictures, and information he recognises from the films. It's also easy enough for his older sister to read unaided.
