Essential for those studying the regiments of Arkansas!
If you have even a passing interest in the Arkansas regiments of the War of Northern Aggression, than this book should be in your collection. Color pictures of all known regimental flags and short but accurate descriptions of the regiments who followed them. Highly recommended.

An Exciting Find
I was interested in this book for a couple of reasons. One, being an Arkansas Civil War historian and two, I am in the book. Several years ago I was doing research into a Confederate company from my home town and found a description of their flag. Though a series of events I found their flag in Springfield, Illinois where it had been taken after capture during the war. After three years of work through the governor's office here when Bill Clinton was in governor, the flag was returned to Arkansas. It was restored and now resides in the county museum. I had no idea this book existed. I had heard nothing of its writing or publication so I was curious. I bought it not knowing if the flag was in it or not and didn't care. The other flags were just as important. Sure enough, the flag was there and the story of its discovery. That alone is worth the price. It is a wonderful book and well written. I would suggest it to anyone interested in the Civil War in the West.

Outstanding reference and resource about the Civil War Flags of Arkansas
This is another outstanding book in the series of Confederate Flags flown during the Civil War. Glenn Dedmondt's book of "The Flags of Civil War Arkansas" is a detailed and interesting respource about the history of Arkansas Flags flow by the state government, military regiments and brigades, staff and General's flags used during the Civil War. As The Civil War News" said about the book it is "Colorful and Illustarted, and contains much information about each flag". This is not a typical dry reading resource book, it is a very interesting book that not only highlights the flags but the regiments that flew them in battle. The Civil War Flags of Arkansas is a MUST HAVE for anyone interested in Civil War History, Arkansas Regiments during the Civil War, and Civil War Flags. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Excellant
It is not well known, but Arkansas contributed many troops to the Confederate cause for such a sparselyy populated state. Many of them faught in the Eastern Theater the entire war. Glen Dedmont is known for the excellance of his research into obscure corners for information. His previous volumes on the flags of several states are considered the "standard" for such studies. Highly recommended.

Excellent Reference Book
This is a great reference book on flags of Arkansas during the Civil War. Found all the flags of my ancestors who served in Arkansas units. definitely a keeper. Commentary on different unit is to the point and so is the artwork.

Very pleased with content.
This is a larger book than expected. Photos are in good color. The author pays fine tribute to Arkansas' contribution to the war effort, even though not a citizen of Arkansas. Not all units are included, but it is a very fine collection. Historical information is very good.
