These are by far the best sounding headphones I have ever used. They have the best microphone for calls and noise cancellation. They also have fantastic noise reduction for online calls in noisy environments. I use them in fabrication clean room environment and no one has trouble hearing me or hearing too much background noise. They are comfortable, connect easily to laptop/phone, and are intuitive to use. They are expensive but they are worth it in my opinion. For reference I’ve used the Sony wf1000xm4 ear buds, Sony wh1000xm4 over ear (these has a mic issue develop after 5 years which is why I bought a new one), bose quiet comfort, bose sport ear buds, jabra elite. Bose quiet comforts sound good but had bad background noise isolation. You can hear everything except the person who’s talking.

My most important criteria when picking these was the noice cancellation. I have a pair of WF-1000XM5 ear buds that I love, but I found I can only wear any ear buds for a few hours before they become uncomfortable. As expected, the noise cancellation on the headphone version is excellent. These headphones are often rated among the very best for that feature. The music sounds great, but my personal use is not really focused on sound quality.

This was a very pleasant experience. I bought this after extensive research. Most audiophile review websites had this as one of the top 2 (the other contender being the Bose QuietComfort Ultra). Things I particularly liked: -- Easy Bluetooth pairing [tested with Android and Mac] -- Very comfortable (hugs ears nicely; lightweight) -- Noise cancelling button works well (switching is very seamless. Unlike most other headphones, there was no lag or uncomfortable sound changes)

They're good headphones. But for $330, they should be great headphones. Pros: sound quality, comfortable, battery life, noise cancellation Cons: many of the features don't work well and I had to turn them off. The mobile app sucks. I bought these to simply having these connected to 5 devices and be smart enough to seamlessly switch to the right one, but it's wrong as often as not so it's useless for this. Sometimes my headphones just randomly turn off while I'm listening to them.

Best Headphones I have ever owned!! Superior Noise Cancellation and Comfort for HOURS! Battery life is also incredible. HIGHLY recommend and very much worth the investment.

Everything you read/hear about these headphones is true. Great sound quality, high highs, low lows, and very clear. The noise canceling is superb. I can't even hear the engine in a car while riding in it. I have one complaint, and it's not worth a star deduction, but it may be an important caveat for other buyers. The headphones on default configuration sound okay, but you really need to set them up with the Sony headphone app to get the full effect. The problem is there is no equivalent for it available on Windows currently. So if you buy these with an aim to connect to your computer or TV you're going to need to use the dual connectivity feature and have them connected to a phone with the app running at the same time to get maximum effect.

I love them. They are comfortable, even during long sessions, and hold on great. I often use them at the gym and the noise canceling does a great job of blocking out the other treadmills. The app is a little clunky but it isn't a necessity if you don't want to change the EQ or setup multi-device, so I don't really mind ignoring that.

Worked well for a year. Now, will not power on. Will not charge. Sony warranty is pathetic and only covers for 1 year. I paid $400 and now I have a $400 paperweight. I also bought my wife one, so there's the possibility of $800 damage at some point. Disappointed with Sony not taking care of this DEFECT. -- Search the internet and you will see others with the same issue. --> Will no longer buy any Sony products.

Owned a WH-1000XM2 and I thought it was the best ever. This headphones was even better and more comfortable! Sound equality is also top notch! I toned down the bass a little as I prefer more lounge type.

XM5を2年半使った頃に、後継機のWH-1000XM6が登場。「Sonyの最新フラッグシップなら間違いない！！」と買い替え寸前まで行きましたが、冷静に考え直してXM5を使い続けることにしました。これからXM6への買い替えやXM5の購入を検討している人の参考になればと思って書きます。 なお音質の専門知識はないので、あくまで一般ユーザーの体感 XM6に乗り換えなかった理由 公式サイトやレビュー記事を読み込んでいると「ノイキャン進化、装着感改善、折りたたみ復活」という売り文句に完全に乗せられそうになりました。Sonyは相変わらずプロモーションが本当にうまいですね(笑)。スペック表を眺めているだけでワクワクしてきます。 ただ、冷静に自分の使用環境を振り返ってみると—— 折りたたみ機能→家から持ち出さないので不要 ノイキャン強化→現状XM5で十分静か 装着感改善→XM5でも痛くならない 今のXM5で困っていることが何ひとつなかったんですよね。気づけば「数万円払って何が変わるんだろう?」という疑問に答えが出せず、買い替えを見送りました。 XM5を2年半使い続けて ノイズキャンセリングは室内なら過剰性能 エアコン、冷蔵庫、外を走る車の音などはきれいに消えますし、人の声もかなり遠ざかります。家での作業や音楽鑑賞でこれ以上の静けさが本当に必要かと言われると、「もう十分」が本音です。しかも強力に効くのに圧迫感がない。耳がギューッと締め付けられる感じや飛行機の中のような違和感がなく、何時間つけていても疲れません。 装着感も文句なし イヤーパッドが柔らかく、メガネをかけていても耳が痛くなりません。長時間つけていると「あ、まだつけてた」と気づく瞬間があるくらい自然な装着感です。 2年半使った耐久性 ヘッドホンは1〜2年でイヤーパッドがボロボロになるイメージがありましたが、XM5は毎日使っても破れや剥がれがゼロ！！不格好になっていないというのも乗り換えを見送った大きな理由でした。 総評 最新モデルの謳い文句に惹かれる気持ちは痛いほど分かりますが、自分の使い方を冷静に見つめ直すと、XM5で完結する人はかなり多いと思います。新型が出た今、XM5は値下がりしています。室内メインで使うならむしろ今が買い時かもしれません。 派手な進化を求めず、信頼できる名機を長く使いたい人に、自信を持っておすすめします。

I used to use a MDR-1ABT, but I could not use it for long periods as it was too heavy. This pair is far lighter,sounds great and the ANC works wonderfully. I can use it for extended periods of time without it feeling heavy on my head.

Been wearing for the few days, feels comfortable minimum pressure on the ear, the noise cancellation is acceptable level, it may varies to individuals settings from the apps itself. So overall worth getting it.
