Revolutionary, Essential and massively flawed design...
Update: after a couple of months light use, mainly for carrying laptop and accessories for short flights each week, the bag has just fallen to bits. See photos. Dropped from 2 to 1 star as even the great elastic storage doesn't compensate for this.Original review....In the pics you can see my bag is ripping, yet its so good in other ways that I would buy another one!!I've fully bought into the cocoon storage solution and have several of their products. This backpack has a very compact size and neat appearance yet easily swallowed a 17" laptop, ipad and the collection of chargers, leads and adapters necessary to keep phones and computers alive....all this stuff is heavy though. The bag is very well made, seems largely water resisitant, strong zippers and internal compartments with the excellent elasticated cocoon system stitched right in there so you can flip the front open and instantly see, organise and access your kit. However, the guy who designed the straps should hang his head in shame, awful awful flaws. The handle part is stitched at 90° to the strap so when carried all the weight goes onto the first couple of stitches. To make it worse it is a single layer of material with mesh on the back that is not load bearing and the padding inside the handle is like packing foam which flattens after a couple of weeks leaving you carrying a thin strip of material that is uncomfortable and exaserbates the strain on the stitching. The main shoulder straps are a single piece of material, again the underneath part is mesh and not load bearing, the foam is not attached so does not contribute to supporting either. This single piece of material then goes to a single line of stitching that also holds together the entire rear of the backpack seam and a pocket zipper, with only a few mm of the strap beyond the stitch line that is not doubled over. It just has not got a hope of supporting the weight without eventually unravelling. If you carry your backpack over one shoulder this again loads up the single stitching on one side.....but the storage is soooooo darn good that you are willing to put up with an £80 backpack that has straps worse than found on any £10 dizney character style school backpack. To Cocoon... you've had these backpacks out for a few years now so you need to scrap this design and sort a new design now for 17" laptops before the reputation you have built on other products goes down the toilet with endless pictures and videos of these ones falling to bits.

Cool design, poor quality, great customer service
We were initially very pleased with the size and design of this bag which I bought for my son to use in sixth form. He carries a Macbook and a few books in it so not over-loaded. Sadly within the term one strap has completely split and the other is coming away from the body of the bag. The strap quality is clearly not adequate for the capacity of the bag, although the price does not reflect this. Will be contacting customer support for a refund or replacement.Update: Cocoon customer services are sending a replacement bag, so I have amended my ratings from 1 to 3 stars, and will update again if this one breaks too.

Weak zip
The zip popped open the first time I tried to close it. It is not strong enough to handle the bag being well packed.Otherwise looks good and is very slim, I would recommend only if you expect to use it just to carry a laptop and not any accessories that might fill it out.

It's good, but be aware of this
This is a really nice product. I use the GRID-IT system a lot and is has a convenient amount of rooms. But I have som major complaints. This backpack was made for a student with no books and food served at the school.Let me explain: The laptop compartment is not made so it runs along the back like every other backpack. Instead, it is on the other side of the room. This means that your books are closest to your back instead of your laptop. This results in a poor weight balance, and that the book corners press into your back. I never noticed this to be a problem until I got this backpack. It really does make sense packing your laptop so it is closest to your back, but they must have had a reason to do what they did.And regarding lunch: Following this idea of not putting anything in the big compartment because it messes up your back one must resolve to put things other places, like the to front pockets, but there is a problem. Only lunchboxes that aren't heigh can fit into the compartments. I went out an bought a new lunchbox that fitted perfectly in the front pocket, but there isn't much space in it meaning I have to take less food to school. Besides that, putting your lunchbox isn't a perfect solution either because everything in the GRID-IT system is in the way of anything you put in the front compartments. Anything mouse height or heigher is annoying when using the front compartments. But I like the backpack. I like the design. I like the slim form factor. I like the included a breast buckle. But they really did make some design flaws.

Really handy product...
Really useful, use it every day... Glad I purchased this produced not the smaller one... As thus could do with a little more room to store bits and bigs in the elasticated compartment... On the whole really pleased...

Be wary, the quality of these back packs appears to vary wildly.
Unfortunately the backpack I received was of extremely poor quality. Along with the zip being faulty, the straps and padding were off centre by about two inches.I would not recommend.

Straps falling apart after a month.
I purchased this backpack as a Christmas present and I truly believed this was a quality product! However, the straps are already falling apart! I have contacted customer services and I hope they will be able to replace this item.I expected more from this backpack because my brother loved it so much and now it's in a state where in a couple of days the straps will fall off.

I love bags and this is brillaint
I love bags and this is brillaint. It does not get 5 stars as that would be to much praise. There is a youtube video out here that shows the bag breaking at the seems. I did not have this problem and I put a lot in my bag.
