Is this need good for heavy people?

I am 370 pounds and six feet tall. I put this mattress on a 45MinST 14 inch metal bar base (available right here on Amazon) without a box spring (if you are using a frame that requires a box spring there is a metal box spring here on Amazon). The mattress is relatively firm, comfortable and has held up well without much of a permanent indentation where I usually sleep on it for close to a year for me so I think if you are in the 300-400 pound range (I have the full size mattress and sleep alone) you have a good chance of being comfortable on this mattress. If someone is only 150-200 pounds this mattress might be too firm for that person. If it is too firm and you are a 300 plus pound person, flip the mattress -- one side is much firmer (too firm even for me) than the other (which is just about right for me).

Everyone seems to choose the memory foam only, but I'm attracted to the concept of the hybrid. Anyone have specific experience hybrid vs. foam only?

I have had both and the hybrid is on a whole different level of comfort. My back pain has completely subsided and my sleep is more deep and refreshing. You dont have the same squishy feeling from the hybrid that the foam has.i recommend buying at least the 12 inch hybrid though. The coils inside actually make all the difference in the world

which boxspring or foundation is recommended?

I bought the Zinus Quick Snap standing foundation!!! Works wonderfully. My husband and I are on the heavier side and since the past few months the mattress and foundation still holding strong! It’s Amazing! I will keep purchasing these products.

How long until you can sleep on it?

It was a good 12 hours before it was completely developed. It says on the paperwork, 24 hours, but does not recommend how long for sleeping.
