Base is metal, gets the candle off my desk. Also catches drippings of other candles that aren’t in a jar. Highly recommend.

Perfect for pilar candles.

Came in a set of two - both are beautifully textured with a realistic woodgrain that does not look cheap or artificial. They are a great addition to a farmhouse or rustic look if you are wishing for that aesthetic in your house.Advertising says they are solid wood. Unfortunately, the weight and feel of them does not lend me to agree. They are feather-light, which lends me to believe they are completely hollow and/or probably some sort of wood veneer. Solid wood would simply have more weight. The grain of the holders is also processed too identically, whereas real wood would have more natural knots and defects.But don't get me wrong - even if they are not that, they are still very lovely, and it took handling them for me to have my doubts. Simply seeing them supporting a candle or some other accent -- they look real and they do not look plastic or cheap. I'm happy to display them well within reach of guests, and they fit all my many types of pillar candles perfectly.The price works for me too - I could see these selling for more (solid wood or no) in local decor stores.

I really love the look of these wood coasters! They’re perfect for cold drinks, household plants, or candles. I am using one as a drink coaster and the other for my plant pot, which has a built-in drainage system, so if I over-water it, it can damage the wood shelf it rests on.
