Works well, and the flashing light keeps this silent if you select that option
I bought this to replace a timer that I already owned that had died, and like it really well. I wanted something that was silent since I use timers to keep myself on track when I'm grading mt students' essays, and this one (in the blue color at least) has the option of moving from a loud alarm to a silent flashing light. This is perfect for when I'm up early grading and don't want to disturb the household. It also retains the time you originally set it at, which I appreciate since that means that you don't have to keep re-setting it.It also doesn't make loud noises (like my last one did) when re-setting the time; it is silent in that regard, too.

The flashing alarm light is perfect for when I work at my desk
The option of flashing light-only alarm is exactly what I wanted -- the small red LED is bright enough to get my attention out of the corner of my eye while working at my desk. However, don't count on the flashing light alerting you from across the room or behind you.The audible alarm option is adequately loud & insistent when I'm moving between adjacent rooms. Up close, however, it makes me jump out of my skin!I took one star off for the alarm settings not lingering -- after about 5 minutes of non-use, the time interval you had set is automatically reset to zero, forcing you to reenter it the next time.

Pretty good, but don't drop it. And press the buttons firmly!
I used it for work and not really for cooking, so this was always in a dry room-temperature environment. You have to really press the buttons firmly to get it to work. But I liked it when it worked! Which gets to my second point.Don't drop this thing. A spill from my desk and now the thing doesn't work at all :( Guess it's time to try one of those cube timers I eyed in the first place... or I'll by the 16 pack for a comparable price and share the gift of time management with my friends....

Love it - Does NOT beep when setting!
We love this timer, it does not make a beeping noise when setting or starting the timer. Although there are not any numbers on the timer, it is easy to set using the minute and second button. You cannot “go backwards” setting the time - but it does not take long to clear and reset time.Beep sound is loud enough. Can also flip switch to “flash” and the timer will not beep when going off.

Great Timer!🌋🏞
I telecommute for an insurance company where my time on the phone is measured in metrics. It's cool that I can turn off the alert/alarm without freaking out my customers on my headset and my time has improved immensely. The fact that this timer is magnetized and has its own kick stand to set on a desk is killer. Buy this timer...Operation is simple and its not a science project to operate. Cheers!

Perfect Functionality
These are great for all types of uses. I received two. I use one at work because I’m trying to slow down while eating. You don’t have to use the loud alarm function. You can just use the silent, blinking red light. You don’t have to disturb anyone with your phone alarm. P.S. to reset you have to hold both M & S buttons down at the same time.

Not the best quality, but works.
Works well, but I just got it and am not sure about it's longevity. Magnets seem fairly strong. The alarm is loud. The silent/ light only setting is silent.

Not completely silent.
Even on mute, there is a very low but audible beep. Plus, the max time you can get on this is 99 minutes, which may not be bad for most. But, I use this for special accommodations testing for high schoolers who test beyond 99 minutes.
