My son really wanted to try trombone with the school band this year but we weren’t ready to invest a ton of money in something he may not like in 6 months. It’s sturdy, well made and assembles easily. The case is durable and secure. It sounds fine to me and the band teacher hasn’t raised any concerns so I assume it plays well also. Great to start with

Great instrument for the price!

The trombone worked well up until exactly 1 year!!!! Make sure if you buy this crappy trombone you get a plan to replace it over a year because I went to get it cleaned and they told me the slide is useless my son now needs a brand new trombone. It's not worth it unless your child plans on only playing for 1 year. I now have to rent because the Music store told me that to get a really good name brand trombone will cost $1,000.00 this def wasn't it!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!! They also won't refund you or replace so if you are going to buy this ,make sure you get over 2 year warranty which they probably don't offer that long because they know it won't last.

Sound is OK, but the slide makes a lot of noise. Started with trombotine and a spray bottle. No matter how much we slathered on it's always scratchy to where you can hear the slide as it moves very clearly.This of course means there's extra friction so the slide doesn't move as easily as we expect.While this is a "cheap" trombone, it's not that much less than other brands.If you want to save money, either buy a P-Bone which is much less expensive, or spring for another $50-100 to get a higher quality instrument.
