Heats Up Fast! Just Right for Me
This throw is the right size for my needs. I’m using it instead of my forced air heater or electric space heaters, hoping to reduce my electricity bill. Won’t know till next month, but in the meantime I’m very happy with the throw. Heats up fast and I get pretty toasty on the highest setting. Once I’ve warmed up, I lower the heat or turn it off. I like that there’s a cutoff after four hours, not 12, like most larger blankets. And I like that there are four heat settings. Don’t need anything more complicated than that. The Sherpa side is incredibly soft. Very pleased with this purchase!

But I think that is a good thing. It keeps her warm even without being ...
It heats up quickly and gets quite hot. Even on the #1 setting (lowest possible) it was sometimes too warm for my Mother. But I think that is a good thing. It keeps her warm even without being turned on and when she does need additional heat, it is fast and very warm. Keep in mind my mother's place is set to 80 degrees so she never needs a lot of extra heat but when she does, she turns on the heating element and it works great. If the room temp were lower I am sure she would need the extra heat more often. We've had previous blankets that barely heated at all. She loves the idea that it has a 3 hour timer (will automatically turn off after 3 hours so you won't have to worry that it was left on all day). At age 87 she can forget to turn things off. And she also loves the idea it is washable. It's brand new so we haven't needed to wash it yet. We did need an extension cord because she uses it for her Recliner and the wall socket wasn't close to the chair. It is a throw and not a full size blanket - which is what she wanted. If you are using this on a bed it may not be long enough but the size is perfect for her chair. The controls were easy for her to learn. She is quite pleased with it.

Great product -- I'm being stingy with 4 stars....
If only rated on function this would be 5 stars....four only because I find the wires to the controller stiff and unsightly. Some other reviews I read have mentioned feeling the wires inside the blanket: they are definitely in there but I disagree this is an issue. The wires in the blanket can really only be felt only if you are actually feeling for them...using the blanket they are not noticeable. The blanket itself is plush and nice....good feel, even if the materials aren't exactly Merino wool or anything special. It feels good and looks like it will wear well...soft; great tactile feel to it on both sides really. I have used this product three ways and all worked really well -- all of these were with the fluffy side "down". 1st, just as a blanket cover up sitting in a chair...fluffy side down. Warm, even before turning it on...cozy! Next, laying it on the sofa (our sofa is fabric), set it to high and just sitting on it....kinda of like heated seats in your car....not nearly as warm as using it to curl under, but nice! Lastly, I've been putting it between the blankets and the comforter on the bed about a half hour before turning in and setting it to high. Our bed room is more then a little cool this time of year and all I can say is AWESOME! Too hot however to leave this on when sleeping so I just turn if off once I get in.Pure bliss getting in a warm bed. Ships with an ugly and not so nice feeling sticker....I removed our with some effort -- probably not supposed to do that, but it's much better with it off. Really happy with this purchase!UPDATE: 1/3/2018 - Like this product enough to get a second one for my mother. She loves it and says she's been using it every day.

Quit working after 3 months
Initially I loved this throw. It worked perfectly and was warm and cozy. Performed perfectly. Size was great, it looked nice and wasn’t that gross cheap fleece material. That lasted about 3 months.Fabric Quality/durability:The Sherpa side of it over a couple weeks started to pill and look dirty. I used this blanket on my lap at work in a chilly office, so it did not see any rough kind of use at all. No kids, no pets on it. It barely moved besides when I would get up from my desk I would move it aside and it would stay on the side of my chair. The Sherpa I believe is just a polyester that’s made in a way that it almost behaves like a soft Velcro, if that makes sense. It grabs whatever fabric you have on with friction, and it stores it. I was wearing red cotton pants one day and noticed red fibers like almost intertwined in the sherpa. Annoying, and a fabric shaver really wouldn’t help. I just picked at it and was like oh well. Then I decided to take it home and wash it. I followed the instructions, delicate, and it didn’t improve anything. It just looked the same. Pilled and intertwined with other fabrics. The fluffy Sherpa eventually turns into smooshed, pilled dirtly looking Sherpa. At this point I was just glad it was at my office and not on my couch looking like that.I will note though that the green pretty velvet side stayed super vibrant, and didn’t dull or pill. It still looks very nice even now.I continued to use this from when I bought it at the beginning of Dec, and washed it I’d say end of January? Once. Then about March it just wasn’t has hot as it used to. I thought maybe it just wasn’t connected all the way or something, but no. Heating element or whatever was going out.Just barely gets hot. I kept using it, and it was just feeble warmth.Spring came and I brought it home to wash again and I put it in a closet to forget about it until now. It’s chilly again so I brought it out.Investigated it more closely. Did a cord fray or get stepped on? No. Cords look brand new. Blanket just is shot.I’m buying another $40-$50 bs blanket right now, and thought I’d leave a review for others to stay away from this one.Disappointing and Shoddy.I refuse to put this in a box, stand in line at ups, and pay return shipping for $15-$20 to use my “warranty” that probably doesn’t mean anything and get a “refund” I’d rather be out the $40 and live and learn.Bought a sunbeam one bc I thought they were supposed to be good.Read all the reviews everyone, not just the ppl who bought it plugged it in and used it a week and wrote a review that it’s the best thing ever. Don’t buy this.

perfect for a cool night
Just enough warmth to take the chill off, soft and comfortable. Smaller size, works great in a chair. I've had good luck with this brand in the past.

Reliable and warm heated blanket
This blanket has 4 heat settings, but a 2 or 3 is already nice and toasty. Very useful in frigid nights!

Very comfortable
I bought this as a gift for my elderly mum, who often feels the cold while watching tv. She has had it for a year now and says it's one of the best gifts she has received. Easy for her to work the controls, it's a lightweight blanket that is washable, and it is warm, without ever getting too hot. My mother is very pleased with it.

Low Quality Production, High Quality Heat
Sunbeam used to be the go-to brand for heated blankets, I've only once not liked a blanket from them, with it being too velvet it slid of the bed. In this case, the color is perfect, the inside sherpa feel is amazing, and it heats up fast, but it also is much lower quality in terms of production. Thin as all get out, certainly not a blanket without the heat on, and there are so many stitching spots missing. Upon opening there was a thread about two feet long I had to cut off, which led me to discover half the stitch lines in the green portion of the blanket were missing or unfinished. Sure, I'll keep and use it, but if I need another I won't be going Sunbeam again. For the price, it should be perfect.
