Both my husband and I are extremely pleased with this feather bed, and we are both completely satisfied with how additionally comfortable it has made our bed--despite the fact that my husband prefers firm mattresses, while I prefer softer ones. Now, admittedly, we put the feather bed on top of superb mattress--a Saatva Classic, Medium Firm. In addition, we are using it on an adjustable bed. Yet, even with an excellent mattress on a bed that I can adjust to my preferred sleeping position, however, I was unable to sleep comfortably due to an old injury that has never healed correctly. I very much needed a layer directly under me that was both far more cushioned and significantly softer than is our mattress, even with an expensive, well-cushioned, mattress cover on it. For this reason, we bought the feather bed (and we use the mattress cover on the feather bed, but predominantly to protect it and to help keep it clean). And the feather bed has made all the difference in the world for me, and my husband is thrilled that it adds cushion and softness without negating or even decreasing the benefits that he gets from sleeping on a firm mattress. So, almost unbelievably, we are both sleeping better and waking in less pain than we did prior to buying this feather bed--so, it gets our unqualified recommendation. Finally, just as an FYI, we were not paid or otherwise compensated for writing this review. In fact, no one has contacted us at any time either requesting or even mentioning a review, which we both appreciate. So, if you're hesitating about purchasing this feather bed, we say to give it a try! It will not be perfect for everyone, but nothing ever is, but it's a great feather bed!

It’s very soft and thick!

It is soft and I'm glad that I could find one that humanely sourced its feathers. There's a few things you should know before getting this:It provides no support. It's filled with feathers, something that is the opposite of firmness. If your mattress is not providing the right support for you, this will not change anything. I strongly suggest getting a firm mattress, and also two latex toppers: one "medium firm" to go on the mattress, and one "soft" to go onto that med firm one. I did this and it made a HUGE difference. Just do NOT buy your toppers from Foam Order or from Latex for Less. They're both scum. Anyway, back to this product lolIt is not very warm, at least in the middle. It's a mattress topper. You lie on top of it, compressing it down. ALL insulation becomes ineffective when compressed whether it's styrofoam, fiberglass, cellulose, or feathers. The insulation comes from the trapped air space. Now, if you slept with this OVER you it would be very warm, but at that point you want a down comforter, not a mattress topper. That said, the part that is to your sides near the edge of the bed does stay fluffy for the most part, and combined with a nice comforter it provides a very cozy envelope.Feathers work their way out from time to time, poking you and potentially damaging the sheets due to the sharpness of the quills. Not sure if this could be fixed by them using thicker material/higher thread count since most of the time it occurs at the seams but it's something to be aware of. If you got a pad of some kind, especially plastic, leather, or otherwise impermeable, to go over this it may protect the sheets and you from this.The part that actually wraps around the mattress (the skirt??) is super sheer and I just know that at some point in the future it is going to tear. It looks cheap, feels cheap, and is cheap. I've stopped fluffing and rotating my topper because it's only one hangnail away from tearing, and then the topper won't stay in position.So why 4 stars after ripping on this? Because they don't skimp on the feathers, the feathers are ethically sourced (Responsible Down Standard), and it does fit my Twin XL bed perfectly (which is a bedsize that's a pain to shop for), and the price is very fair. I did some shopping around and feather toppers are either more expensive or abusive to the birds. I do not regret my purchase and can recommend this to anyone as long as they understand the limitations and accept them.

It made our too firm mattress into a bed we just sink into. Love!Edit to add: the listing says machine washable. We took it to two different cleaners and they didn’t even have machines big enough. Can’t wash these.

I've been sleeping on this for 18 nights now and I still can't get over how much I love it! I use it on top of a coil spring beauty rest bed. I had read all the 5 and 1 star reviews before buying. Seems like the biggest complaint is that it goes flat. I have a hack to make that not happen! I do not fit it over the mattress, instead I leave that part free (it naturally tucks under it), then I put my fitted sheet around the feather bed only (not sandwiched between the fitted sheet and the mattress). So this leaves the feather bed free, sitting on top of my mattress, so every morning I re-fluff it when I make my bed, and every night, it's perfectly fluffed for me.During the night it cradles me all night, I've always tossed and turned my whole life and now I do so very much less. I went from a stomach sleeper to a side and back sleeper. But I love tossing and turning now because each position is just heavenly. I feels like I'm sleeping in & on a cloud. I wish I bought this 20 years ago!That said, I did try it for 2 days on a new Memory Foam bed (that I returned to Amazon - see that review if needed) and it didn't make a difference at all on that uncomfortable bed, like it wasn't even there. But I put it back onto my coil spring beauty rest bed, I inadvertently moved it 180 degrees, and when it was turned this way, the feathers didn't hit me correctly and I was uncomfortable all night (that scared me, how could this be?!). I then turned it 180 degrees to the original position and it was back to my heavenly feather bed again. So, if you tried it and didn't like it, make sure to fluff it and turn it 180 degrees just to make sure, or try it on an already pretty comfortable bed. Sounds crazy but it's true!
