304 SS. Appears Well Made. Multiple Mounting Options
I have purchased a few types of this valve. Some made entirely of plastic and others had some plastic parts. This one while it is considerably larger than the others This, except for the valve, is made of 100% SS.I show in the photos that this can be mounted two ways and how it functions. The plastic valve is secured in place with a plunger that goes through the tubes output making it impossible for it to come out. I say this from reading reviews on similar products but, other than breaking, I just don't understand how this could come loose. The ONLY thing I can see is if the nuts securing the shaft came off. This could be prevented by replacing the nut with a hole in the bolt and inserting a cotter pin.The long rod that holds the float is quite large but i'm sure the rod can be formed or cut to help keep its footprint manageable.Cheers

Just what I wanted
This ball float devise is just what I need for my maple syrup evap system. Self filling as boil continues. Perfect.Very pleased with this item, I'd recommend this ball float.
