Pretty awesome (and affordable) Raspberry PI alternative.
I bought this to tinker around with as I have always wanted a Raspberry PI but could never justify the price. This baby is sweet as it's tiny and has plenty of power and DDR4! I bought the kit with the daughter board and the power cable and everything works as expected.I use this with PiHole to block ads at the network level and it's awesome. I also tried a 1.20 MC server and that also worked.I am running Orange Pi's official Ubuntu image and it's fine. I'm waiting for Armbian to release an OS for this though as their OSs are better than anything OPi has outThere is not a lot of aftermarket support for this thing, software wise and hardware wise. I was lucky and found a little heatsink case for it. Orange Pi's website has lots of documentation to get this bad boy up and running.Just to note that on Linux the OPi 0-3 doesn't support GPU hardware acceleration with the H618 so look elsewhere for now if you need that. Also make sure to get a compatible SD card!Overall, it's a neat little device that I enjoy tinkering with and for the price of a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gb ram, I can buy like 3 or 4 of these.

It is not suitable for 4K player
After I installed the orange pi system and tried to play 4K video, the video footage was intermittent and the audio was also not quite right. Do not buy this if you want to play 4K video.

small, available, but low compatibility
I wanted a little SBC to run basic web browsing and youtube watching for a spare TV I had laying around. Of course, raspberry pi is the way to go, but those seem to be really expensive right now. I looked at a bunch of SBC's, but decided on this one because I wanted ethernet, USB for power, HDMI, and 1-2 USB type A ports. I tried running ubuntu, but it would crash. I switched to arch (opios), and it has been more stable, although about once a week, it just stops working. It boots back up fine, and checking the journal (journalctl -b -1) doesn't reveal any problems. The image files for the OS's are shared from google drive, and it seems like the download quota is always exceeded, so I haven't been able to download a new OS since the first time. It doesn't recognize my Native Instruments Komplete Audio interface. I had a powered USB hub plugged into it (for keyboard, mouse, audio interface, and thumb drive), but the power supply for the hub died. I ordered a new hub and will switch back to my old raspberry pi. I'll see if I can run volumio or something on this. It's noticeably slower than my raspberry pi 4 but faster than my raspberry pi zero. Size wise, it's in between those two as well. It just doesn't seem worth it at this price.
