Perfect cold weather comfort
I purchased two of these sweatshirts about a year ago; one for me and one for my father-in-law. Since I receiving it, one of the best things about cold weather is that it gives me an excuse to put this sweatshirt on! I tend to be very hard on clothing because I work in the electrical trade; I haven't been able to find even a loose thread on the shirt to this day.First, the quality and "feel" of the sweatshirt is beyond my initial expectations. The shirt is really thick and warm. The outside is smooth and a little rigid due to the thickness of the material. The inside is brushed so it has a really soft texture. In fact, I often wear this on weekends without an undershirt because the inside is so comfortable. The pocket in the front has plenty of room but does not stick out or sag when you put things in it. The stitching is tight and over the past year it has held up very well.I wear a medium and my father-in-law is a large and both shirts fit like we expected. For some perspective, I wear a 15.5/33 dress shirt and the sweater fit without being to tight or to big. Despite the thickness of the material the shirt is not overly bulky; it fits comfortably without being cumbersome. The neck area is quite tight, however, and it makes pulling it off over your head a little bit tricky. It's not a big gripe but make sure you have the strings out of the way before you take it off or you will end up with a string impression in your forehead. One word of caution - this is a very warm sweatshirt. If you are looking for something light for moderate weather, this is not it. I wore it last year in some of the coldest weather we experienced - I am in Texas so that is only about 20 degrees F - and was very warm. If you are looking for a warm sweater this is defiantly it. It not only kept me warm but help up very well against some very brisk wind.Overall I am very happy with this sweatshirt. It is warm, comfortable and does not have a gigantic brand name printed across the front. The quality is top notch. My wife says it looks nice on me and even she takes it every chance she gets. During the cold months of the year I think she wears it more than I do...

Best sweatshirt I've ever owned (Large Tall size)
I'm 18, 6'4", 210 lbs, ~42L suit, 77-inch wingspan (aka moderately long arms), 32-inch waist, and I got this hoodie in black in the Large Tall size.It fits excellently and looks great! It has all the size you need from a large (true to size, no ridiculously excessive tenting) but the extra length is great for any guy over 6'2" or anyone with a 74++ inch wingspan. It is very roomy, but not too roomy. I think this size could comfortably fit someone up to 6'5" 230, but I'm not the biggest-framed guy. 81+ inch wingspans may want to try for a larger size.Have not washed it yet, but the body length looks great, the sleeves could accommodate shorter and longer arms than mine, and the shoulders accommodate my average shoulders well... good for broad shoulders and narrow shoulders alike. It also feels indestructible and is comfortable in average indoor temperature over a T-shirt (it's 75F and I'm comfortable in it), or when it's quite cold out (I'm assuming, but it's still summer), and the pockets don't flare out badly like some hoodies do.The hood fits well too, but I have a rather long neck and it could be a little more generous. It still fits well; just wish it flattened my hair less. The Carhartt logo isn't bad either. Sure, some see it as a "working class" brand, but I'd rather wear it than almost any "teen" or skate brand. It's also pretty good-looking as far as logos go, and it's better than plain. My only complaint is that the head hole is a little small. I can barely fit my 23.5-inch head through there... And it flattens my hair every time. Also, the "kangaroo pocket" is just one compartment, and I would prefer a divider for two separate pockets but I'm sure I'll get used to the kangaroo style.

Looks quite good, but confusing sizes for Carhartt
In general, I like most Carhartt products. (except Carhartt summer shirts regardless of T-shirts or long-sleeve shirts. They are just NOT impressive compared to other brands.)This Carhartt heavyweight sweatshirt, however, is a good buy.Pros:1. Heavy, but soft materials, so very warm indeed.2. The workmansship is decent.3. The style is good, it looks nice around my shoulders and waist, not baggy at all!(The hood doesn't drag down on the back, so the frontal neckpiece is not lifted up and tightend around my throat. As a result, no scene of strangulation,Ha,Ha...)4. Heavyweight only at Amazon, the local store has only lightweight and mediumweight with a higher price tag than heaveyweight at Amazon.(Yeah, I got it in August to avoid its December's "seasonable" price.)Cons (well, only one)1. I can only wear Small size Carhartt shirts and T-shirts, and I have like 5 or 7 of them (Mediums are huge for me). So, I assumed a Small size Carhartt hoodie would be my size. But, Wrong! I went to a local workwear store, and checked it out; Thanks to myself, I needed a Carhartt Medium hoodie for my 5.10/160 pound physique). Carhartt really needs to straighten their size standards acorss all products. My adive is: GO TO A STORE TO FIND YOUR RIGHT SIZE, AND THEN BUY IT FROM AMAZON.Final verdict: Great sweatshirt, and I give it 5 stars!

heavy duty
I was a little disappointed at first when this wasn't the original design like I thought. Almost returned it. But after trying it out for a couple days I couldn't be happier. The hoodie is very heavy duty and almost too warm. I barely even need a coat anymore. Still has the nice loose fit of carhartt and the waterproofing is amazing.
