This computer kicks $@%. Buy it.
This computer is pretty sweet. The dude that got a headlight for a truck killed this rating. Id buy it again. I've had no problems. Nice and quiet.

Solid machine for the price
Fast machine, stable build, overall I'm happy with the purchase. If you've read any one of my past reviews, you know we have to take the machine apart and look around. After all, it's what's inside that counts, and I'm a hopeless hardware romantic. First thing, the side panel comes off with a pull handle on the back after you remove one screw (you don't need to put it back in if you don't want to, it's a free country after all). There are two SSD screwless cages at the bottom as well as power connections for both. SATA 3 & 4 are available, SATA 2 is blocked by the video card. Adding a SATA SSD is a five minute process and you have to appreciate the fact that Dell has finally embraced the understanding that many users will want to modify their machines. The memory config was surprisingly two 8GB DIMMS running in dual channel as opposed to some reviews I've read stating that they received only one 16GB DIMM. The internal wiring is not the neatest, but the internals are easily accessible so modifying to your liking is relatively painless. I'm not a gamer, but the card is fast although it is restricted to 8 lanes by the motherboard. The NVMe drive provided in mine won't set any speed records but it is faster than the traditional SATA SSD. I did add a Samsung 1TB SSD (Samsung 860 EVO, can't recommend it highly enough) because I loathe traditional spindle drives although I left the provided 1TB for music and cat videos I guess. There are some changes you might like to make with the Alienware config utility as far as power management is concerned, the included utility is pretty useful. Very little included garbageware other than Microsoft's normal "we bought that company so we're installing it on your PC" routine. Overall four and a half stars but you can't score that way on Amazon.

It didn't even look like a computer
I received a rear taillight for a pick-up truck. It didn't even look like a computer.

I regret buying this thing :(
I bought this computer from Best Buy not from amazon. This computer seems like a great idea at first. With all the hardware packed into this thing it all adds up to a pretty decent gaming PC and it was for the first few months that I have had it and I had no problems with the computer at al, but keep in mind that I bought it in January. I used it to stream on twitch and play games off of steam. I started to notice an issue about 2 months ago when it didn't want to start properly. My screen was black for about 5 minutes before anything from the operating system started to boot up. I thought well maybe its just an update and it was installing it or something, but when I tried to launch a program the computer would lock up for about a minute or so and the issue would get worse the longer the computer was on. I factory reset the computer and everything went smoothly. I had to reinstall everything that I had which was a pain, but at least it was working properly for about a week. The same thing happened again, it would keep locking up anytime I wanted to launch a program and it wouldn't get any better. I contacted Dell for help and they said just to run the support assist that came with the computer. I looked through forums trying to figure out what was the issue and I couldn't find anything. I had to factory reset the computer again and this time I wiped out everything so it was like new. I reinstalled everything I had and within a couple of days the same issue. I thought that it may have been the programs that I was using. I was only using OBS, Steam, and I would use my browser to log on to twitch, so I factory reset the computer again and this time I didn't install anything. I left the computer alone and it was fine. I reinstalled Steam only and tried to launch a game and it locked up. I thought steam was the issue, but it didn't make any sense because I had it on my old computer and it was just fine, so I had to factory reset the computer again. This time I didn't install steam and just downloaded a game off of GOG. and the computer was having the same issue, but this time it waited for a few days before it started to freeze. I don't understand why this computer keeps doing this especially when I try to play games! This may just be the model that I bought, but beware that this may be an issue for you.

Great all around!
Runs great. So far I’ve had 0 issues. Plays any game you can throw at it in high or ultra high resolution. New gen processor so upgrading will not be Necessary for a few years. Gtx 1070 is a great all around gpu that can be overclocked with ease.

Good PC, Overpriced!
I bought this PC in Feb 2018 from Best Buy, I paid $1,246 (tax included). This seller has it listed for $2,999. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This is a good PC, but it's not nearly worth 3 thousand dollars. This has an 8th generation processor (manufactured in 2017), that's 4yrs old. The GTX 1070 that comes with PC was manufactured June 2016. The seller is trying to take advantage of the fact that graphics cards right now, are scarce. MSRP on this 4yr old PC in 2018 was $1,600. Don't get scammed. Walmart has the R8 (one year newer than this one) right now for $999.
