Delicious non-fluffy batter for thin waffles
This waffle mix is delicious! It's light, fluffy, slightly sweet, and cooks pretty well. This doesn't fluff up in size greatly due to its purpose of being for corndogs as opposed to straight up belgian waffles, but I don't make corndogs very often.I would recommend this for regular waffles too just don't expect it to become super fluffy.

Tastes good
I liked this mix. Good flavor and easy to get the thickness of batter right. Would buy again.

Taste good and are so easy to make
I didn't realize that the listing, and even the package itself, says this is for corndog waffles. I even followed the instructions exactly so I could properly review this. Ha, I guess I completely bypassed that. I made regular waffles, so I guess it's not too big of a deal. And they turned out great! The recipe couldn't have been easier as it just required water and butter. Since the butter is in the mixture, I didn't have to add any extra to the waffle iron. At first I thought they would get a little stuck (I was using two different waffle makers at once), but nope. All came out perfectly. They had a good crisp and the inside was nice and soft (while well cooked). I didn't find these to be too sweet, they are good as is. I do plan to experiment a bit more with the mix by adding some fruits or chocolate chips, but I wanted to see what it tasted like on its own. Definitely a good (and easy) one to try!

It's okay...
This mix can be versatile and it's nice that you can just add water and oil or butter. We started by just making pancakes with it and though it smells really sweet, my kids said it wasn't very sweet. We do want to try as corndogs because I feel like there's less expectation for sweet when it's covering a hot dog. I will admit my kids might be pancake/waffle snobs, so they may not be the best judges. My husband and I are gluten-free so we didn't give it a try. Price-wise, I don't think this is an outstanding value or anything.

Sweet vanilla waffle mix
I've ordered the regular Belgian Waffle mix from OldSoul too, and I don't think this Corndog Waffle Mix is actually any different from the regular Belgian - the ingredients, nutritional information, and mixing instructions are exactly the same! They're super quick and easy to make: just add water. The batter gets a fluffy almost whipped texture. On my Dash Deluxe waffle maker that makes a sheet of 4 waffles at a time, one "batch" (1.5 cups of mix and 1 cup of water) makes the PERFECT amount of batter for 2 sheets, or 8 total waffles. The resulting waffles are sweet with a noticeable vanilla flavor - they're sweet enough that I like them plain, they're TOO sweet with syrup. The texture is fluffy, yet dense - they're slightly crispy right off the iron, but unless you inhale them while they're still hot off the iron they lose their crispness within a minute or too and remind me more of the texture of a fluffy pancake than a waffle. This mix is fantastic for how easy it is to whip up, a little sweeter than I prefer, and the texture is definitely not as good as fresh from-scratch waffles. But overall it's pretty good!

Missing manufacturing data
I cannot recommend this product at all. It doesn’t say where it was manufactured, which is an incredibly important piece of information, and required by law in the US.When I tried to find out from the company which makes this product where it was made, they were very evasive. They said that the product ships from the US, but that doesn’t mean it was manufactured in the US.Why is this important? Because some countries do not have the very stringent safety requirements that the US requires to keep your food safe.

Fast to make! Tastes great! Not much cleanup needed! Various ways to use!
So handy, easy and tasty the "OldSoul Professional Corndog Waffle Mix | Vanilla Flavour | Soy &Nut Free | 5 Lbs | 140 Waffle" is a breeze to mix and use. To make 12 corndog waffles you just mix 1 1/2 cups of the waffle mix, 1 cup of water and an optional 3 TBL of melted butter or oil. Adding the fat allows you to skip oiling the waffle iron plate. Cook waffles til the steaming stops or until golden brown. What I like about this mix is that it is favorful and can be used a variety of ways. To make regular waffles or a hot dog wrapped in a corndog waffle. You could cook it like a pancake and use it like a bun for a hot dog, or dice/slice hot dogs right in the batter. I even made up a small batch using 1/4 cup mix and cooked in in a electric tortilla cooker and it made for a perfect snack. It comes in a heavy bag and then is encased in a second lightweight bag. It's good sized since it's a 5lb bag so I use a binder clip to close it and store the entire thing in an empty tub with a lid. I appreciate this mix as it's super easy to prepare a meal or snack in a very short amount of time. Not much clean up either. The photos on this listing match exactly what is on the bag I received.

Better as Pancakes, or with banana
We have tried this mix three times: as Pancakes, Waffles, and Banana Waffles. Of the three styles, the pancakes were the favorite, followed closely by the Banana Waffles. The straight Waffles, using the recipe on the back of the bag, were a little too rich and definitely had that 'corn dog' flavor. I took that recipe and added two old bananas to it for the Banana Waffles.I think if we had a corn dog waffle iron (yes they do exist), they would be very good.
