There are gems in this anthology
This book is beautifully manufactured with cloth cover, and high quality paper, although not specifically noted to be alkaline/archival quality. I encountered authors new to me, and poems of great beauty that have enriched my life. Specifically, Ted Koosers's poem "Mother", Constantine Cavafy's "Ithaka", John Keats "To Autumn", and many others. Poetry can lift your spirits, and enlarge your horizon like no other literature. Highly recommend this volume. It is a well-chosen collection of great poems.

A broad survey of poems (either brief or selections from larger works) on gratitude - which we all should express more often
The Everyman's Library Pocket Poets series is extensive - offering volumes focusing on themes (Love Poems, Poems of Sleep and Dreams, Poems About Cats) and nationalities/periods (Beat Poets, Indian Love Poems, The Roman Poets). The newest entry, Poems of Gratitude, seems like it could have been one of the first in the series, as gratitude is one of the most obvious uses for poetry. Here it is at last, and this slim volume has plenty to recommend it.Broken into sub-segments (Giving Thanks, For Life, For Family, For Friendship, etc.), the volume offers short poems or selections from larger works that focus like a laser on the theme. Most of the selections fit on one page, and given that this is the Pocket series, we're talking small pages here). This is not a volume for deep exploration and wandering through larger works - this could be the perfect book for someone who is looking for a 'money quote' on gratitude, as the poets selected include some of the all-time greats (Shakespeare, Horace, Emerson, Burns, Milton, Poe, etc.), although to be fair there are some more obscure (at least to me) selections. If you ever need an assist to write a thank-you letter or give a speech of thanks, this book is a must-read.I read poetry only rarely but when I do I am in the mood to get lost in it - that's the only reason why this gets four stars instead of five. Perhaps I should not be critical of the brief selections - I knew this was the Pocket series - but it seems like they were a bit ruthless with the scalpel and could have been a little more generous to the poets. Still - recommended!

Poems of Gratitude
Everyman's has another wonderful collection with Poems of Gratitude. I like to keep these by my bed or set them around my apartment in various places because once in a while, I just need a little inspiration. Poems of Gratitude is chock full of poems from poets new and old, popular and perhaps never heard of. I have been browsing it to discover old favorites (like Robert Burns' "Selkirk Grace") and new favorites (including an Algernon Charles Swinburne selection from "To a Cat") among many others. The sections of the book are meant to reflect different things we can be grateful for, but the last section deals mostly with Thanksgiving as a holiday and autumn. There is plenty to be discovered in this handy pocket-sized volume, and much to be grateful for.

Love this series!
The Everyman's Library Pocket Poet Series is one of my favorites. The bindings are quality and they all have a pretty ribbon bookmark sewn in. This series covers a wide variety of subjects. I have Halloween poems, Gratitude poems, Love poems and more in my collection and the selection of poems in each is always better than I hoped. Many treasures lie within! Highly recommended.

Glad about the purchase
Great collection of poems on gratitude. One of the best anthologised poetry books I have come across. It is good to gift someone or even to keep for yourself. No way you will go wrong if you gift it.
