Fertilome Spinosad Bagworm, Tent Caterpillar and Chewing Insect Control Oil, Quart

Worms/moths were having a field day with our boxwoods. This did the trick!

I used this product to halt this year's Walnut Husk Fly infestation and we are enjoying a terrific walnut crop! I switched from another type of insect control product (that seemed like it was not working) and sprayed with Spinsosad weekly for 6–8 weeks before harvesting. I'm very pleased with the results and hope to use this product again next year to protect our cherries to!

I had two arborvitae die and a third was in bad shape when I started using this product two years ago. That year the one that looked like it was dying survived and last year it started making a comeback. I spray this on all my arborvitae in spring and there’s no sign that the bugs are doing any damage.

This worked well as a preventative but not a solution. A bunch of bagworms took up residence on 1 of our arborvitae trees and we have another one less than 10’ away. They were already heavy on the first one and we sprayed both. The one already infested is dead, I guess the infestation was too much cause it didn’t bounce back and kept getting worse. We sprayed the other one as a preventative to keep it from spreading and that one is still alive and healthy. So use it before you have an issue otherwise it’s useless.

The big spruce tree my dad had given me when it was just a little 8" seedling was now infested big time with bagworms: I saw a tree near death's door. Fertilome saved it, just in time. I chose this brand over others because it appeared that it was not filled with granular lumps, which could clog a sprayer. The directions in the little booklet are clear, and measurements meshed with the Ortho dial-a-spray applicator. Soon after the application, we observed a caterpillar emerging out of the end of each strong silken bag hanging from the tree branches, croaking before they got out of the bag. Sweet, sweet success.
