Allows you to play guitar on the go. I help with the guitar club at my daughter's school. I take this and plug into computer speakers so I don't have to carry my peddle board and amp. I just carry my guitar and phone with this attached to my guitar. It is a cheap option for kids that don't have the funds to buy an amp. You can get by with the freebees that come with the apps for your phone. A phone will never compare to a full set up, but this can really make you mobile.
