Found my gas leak on my pipe work to my gas fire. It was a venting screw, it went straight to it. So I’m happy. Really good thanks.

This Detector comes in a minimally branded plain box, but nicely packaged inside with a carry bag.It's powered by 3xAAA batteries, which are also supplied. You'll need to unscrew the back plate to insert them, which I'm not a fan of. I'd much prefer something that didn't need additional tools.The power button is on the side; once you turn it on by holding the power button for a moment, you need to wait several seconds for it to boot up and run its checks, etc. An annoying feature I found was that it only takes a single press to turn it back off again - which could be done accidentally - and you'd need to wait for the boot cycle again. This would have been better if you had to hold the power button momentarily to turn it off, which they've implemented for turning it on!The display is large and clear, and the beeps are loud. It's got a usefully long neck, with an LED light at the end which is useful. That can be turned on/off from a button on the front. It also shows the relative humidity, and current temperature in C/F.We're an electric household so I couldn't test it with the stove or anything, but I did try it with a normal lighter, and I had to hold it right up to the sensor for it to trigger (at which point it would max out). I did try releasing the lighter gas into the air etc to see if it'd pick it up; it didn't. I'm not sure if that's a fair test, you be the judge.It also doesn't tell you the type of gas it's detecting, but then does that matter? A gas leak is a gas leak at the end of the day.I've dropped 1* only because of the small annoyances, like screwing the battery compartment and being too quick to turn off (it also has an auto-power-off feature, so the zealousness is unnecessary).

The media could not be loaded.  I will start by saying I'm not a professional. I obtained this purely as one of those DIY things that you find use for every now and then. I intend on using it occasionally around my boiler and gas meter and perhaps my gas cooker top.As you can see in the video, gas is detected. I can't show how sensitive the device is by providing a trickle of gas but clearly it works when near to gas.It does come with three AAA batteries, although this is surprising as most things today are rechargeable and built-in.It comes with clear instructions and importantly points out that the batteries need to be monitored to ensure results are accurate.

The media could not be loaded.  This a a stunning professional gas leak detector. It comes in a nice sleeve, with 3 AAA batteries. Is realle easy to setup, you need just to put batteries in, and press the power button. The digital display is big (4cmx6.5cm) enough and allows you a perfect and easy reading-check of tests-result. Also, auto Power-Off function after 5 mins is really helpful if you accidentally forget it switche on. I have tested it in my kitchen I found really useful the 9.4-inch flexible gooseneck for the inspection-test which has a super cool mini lamp embedded on it. FIve stars to me.

This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.In terms of build quality, the unit has a fairly solid construction - it’s a rigid plastic handset with a robust, yet flexible metal arm. The buttons are all ergonomic and easy to activate, and the screen has a very bright, easy to read display. I found the beeping of the device to be quite loud (helpful in an emergency), but you can switch it off quickly, if you don’t like hearing constant noise when trying to use it. I do wish that the system would remember your preference on this, as it resets when the handset is switched off and back on again.Unfortunately, I’m not convinced by the performance. I held the detector very close to a candle flame (which should emit at least a trace amount of carbon monoxide), and could not get a reading. Judging by other reviewers’ comments on the sensitivity, it may well be that I received a defective unit. I tried multiple times, and made sure that the ‘high sensitivity’ mode was selected, to no avail. I do not have a gas appliance otherwise, so cannot test further.I came across a slight issue with the screen itself. My unit reads ‘high/low sensibility’ instead of ‘sensitivity’ (potential translation error, I assume). I feel that the quality control of these devices may be lacking. It’s disappointing, as I do have gas central heating and a combi boiler, so the detector could have been a handy tool.

The device is intuitive, responding with speed and clarity to the slightest hint of gas in the air. The flexible probe proves its worth in tight spaces, and the silence button is a thoughtful touch when I'm concentrating on the source rather than the alarm. A flick of the switch illuminates dark spots under the sink or behind appliances. It's reassuring to have such a vigilant guard on duty, making my workspace and home safer without any fuss.

I suspected that I had an oven gas leak. I bought this tested and sure enough I did have a gas leak.

I have a professional gas detector and this new one does not pick up what my other meter does. To good to be true for this price.
