Relevant to Ngondro Practitioners
If only those allegorical bees circling in the samsaric jar could talk! In THE BEE STORY, they do, but can we listen?Like the busy-bee protagonists who recognize they’re living in what we humans call a “First World” with its trivial “problems” of having too much of a good thing, we materialists have a hard time acknowledging when enough is enough, often waiting until it's too late. Reading this dharmic tale from authentic master teachers Patrul Rinpoche and Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche is a reminder to awaken from our delusion.Shorter than WORDS OF MY PERFECT TEACHER but just as profound, THE BEE STORY provides pithy and poetic descriptions and commentary on the ngöndro practice, from refuge to guru yoga, sure to enlighten your perspective on your own brief and precious human life.

Wisdom for the ages
A beautifully poetic version of Patrul Rinpoche’s Bee Story, which succinctly describe Buddhist philosophy and the path, which will free us from the never-ending cycle of trying to attain everlasting happiness through material and temporal gain only to be disappointed over and over again. I highly recommend this book to all those who are looking to escape this cycle.

Wisdom for living in a shaky world
Just got this and I’m reading it slowly, to let it sink in. I have so much gratitude for the teachings of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche because the simple yet profound wisdom he shares has changed my life. Step by step. I highly recommend this book, as well as all of his previous books at I’ve read and re-read. Our little local sangha is studying The Intelligent Heart, another of DKR’s generous transmissions of transformative wisdom. So thankful! 🙏❤️

Allegory for the modern times
Some books last for centuries due to their continued relevance. The West has some pretty good writers. Patrul Rinpoche may not be familiar , but the story speaks for itself. Hard to find a more relevant story and teaching about life, loss and trials in the current world. Singular , plainspoken and accessible at the same time .
