It's perfect. All the ports work the way should. The build quality is outstanding. Devices don't disconnect, and the HDMI connection transmits whatever is on my screen exactly as it should. Everything in this photo is connected to my MacBook Pro, and it's running with zero slow-down. This adapter never gets hot, which is crazy because everything else I've used, including single usb-c sticks, have felt like stove when plugged in. I love that it comes in black and doesn't attempt to match the color of my MacBook; I find that those adapters are usually slightly off and typically look cheaper (there's a reason Apple's cables are one color.) This adapter feels solid and not flimsy, and I don't anticipate anything malfunctioning with normal use.I have a particular love for this adapter because it is the 3rd one I've purchased from Amazon. The other 2 came from different brands -- both became extremely hot, wouldn't hold connections, and each had unusable ports caused by bad internal components. Not the case with Heron. This product was clearly made with care. I even love the packaging, which is a durable cardboard (no plastic) I’ve seen used by other high-end tech companies. Anyway, if you're looking for an adapter for your MacBook Pro, the search is over... this one is perfect.(oh -- the others I bought were $70 each, and I would gladly pay that (or more) for this adapter.... aka, this thing is a super good deal)

Worked as described and ran much cooler than other types. Unfortunately there was a compatibility issue with my particular computer. However, Heron Cable was responsive and took care of my situation quickly and satisfactorily.

Update 2: I'm buying a replacement for this terrible thing. It is so poorly shielded I can't connect to the internet with it plugged in. I've resorted to wrapping the whole thing in tinfoil and electrical tape just so I can still use it. Today I woke up and my computer hadn't been charging. If you touch it everything disconnects. Absolutely worst thing I've bought on this website.Update: realized that my computer hadn't been backed up in over a week, so I would say the usb ports on this thing are officially dead.I bought this for my new MacBook Pro. It doesn't have a problem keeping my HDMI connected external monitor connected but my usb 3.0 hard drive bay and the micro sd card I keep in it are constantly getting "ejected" unexpectedly.I love the feel of the outside casing and the spacing of the ports is really well done but the internals aren't as reliable as they should be.

Very compact, solid feeling. A great replacement or at least a backup docking station.I purchased it mainly for two functions: HDMI output and USB-C power supply. With these two function, I do not have to rely on a connection dock which could cost me a leg and an arm (up to $300). Just tested on my new Dell Latitude, HDMI works great and the laptop can be charged through the USB-C by adding a 45 W power supply.Highly recommend to whoever want to save money on docking station, of course if your computer support it.

The colors are off on the HDMI. Black is not as black as it is with the direct from the computer HDMI output. It's minor, but noticeable. Tested both of the same monitors, it's for sure the device.

While most functions of this HUB work as described, It has some issues. For one, the device itself shows up as "Generic Billboard Device". What's that all about? on top of that, this product is advertised as being able to charge up to 60W, as well as carry all of its other data across its lightning connection. I don't know why I believed this as other more expensive products say they can't charge over the Type-C connection on their hub, but I decided to try it with this one.IT DOES NOT WORK. My Spectre x360 only requires 45W, but the Type C port on the hub only allowed my laptop to charge for a few seconds before the charging icon disappeared from my system tray. After trying to plug it back in I found that the charging icon wouldn't even show up. I don't know if this broke the Type C port on the hub or not as I Don't have any other Type C devices, so I guess I'll find that out in the future. This failure is the soul reason My review is at 2 stars. While nothing bad happened this time, a power supply adapter failing is seriously dangerous, and could have destroyed the HUB, the charger, or my laptop, and laptops with USB C aren't exactly cheap!The failure of the HUB to allow charging also puts a damper on my future plans of an eGPU, as the only other lighting port on my laptop will be needed for the eGPU box and not all of those allow for charging pass-through. Only time will tell if I have to return this product for a higher end one.As for the other features, they still seem to work. I can connect a usb 3.0 external hard drive and it seems to transfer videos files through the hub with alright speed. Micro SD cards also work fine, but I have yet to try transferring a large file between two objects plugged into the HUB, which is something I've had issue with before on SD/USB hubs. I have yet to plug a display into it, but I doubt it will have much trouble with this. The HDMI is largely pass through, so even though the product description claims 4k 30 Hz, it should work up to the specifications of whatever HDMI Standard you plug into it, including 2.1.PROS:smallWell laid outwell labeledgood IOCONS:can't actually chargeshows up itself as "Generic Billboard Device"

I purchased this when I realized the laptop I bought didn't have the capabilities to use a usb or read a card. I really looked at reviews to see if I could find something that would work but a lot of the reviews on these kind of products seemed sketchy... So i picked this one leary if it would work properly... And I have to say, I have been happy with it for over a year now. No over heating. Nothing I can say bad about it. It has worked perfectly for me.

It is working perfectly with my macbook , I can use this hub to connect with all my devices, since my macbook only have one usb c port.Also the metarial makes me feel this hub is pretty durable.Affordable price with great product, can't be better!
