Got these for my dad, he makes fishing flies, and he was VERY impressed by quality and size. His exact words were, “wow! These are perfect! Wow!” So far he’s made several flies with one of the feathers and finds it easy to work with the pieces strands of feather and holds up well while he is tying the flies.

Maybe I have unreasonable expectations for peacock feathers. I envisioned larger, grander and slightly fluffier feathers, but I obviously have some notion of a hybrid ostrich-peacock in my mind, and after purchasing two different varieties of peacock wares, I have readjusted my expectations. (To be fair, my peacock sightings have been rare, and never at close range, so I perhaps lack the life experience to call myself a peacock connoisseur.) Anywho, these feather are a decent length and the patterning is lovely - slightly iridescent but saturated blues, greens and gold. The bottoms tended to fray, somewhat to my dismay, but all told, if it’s a nice mid-range feather with bold color and delicate markings - and if you don’t expect the feathers to hold up to rainy or windy days outside or more than a few uses, these will do the trick.

Great feathers! They hold up nicely. My cat loves it... and she didn't destroy it in one play session! Still going strong after a month. I also used some as a headdress for a costume at school. Same thing. The feathers were strong enough to withstand a day in the life of a fifth-grade teacher. 😀 My EA and I got a kick out of the name "Larry," He thought, for a shot seconds, that the father came from a peacock named Larry. We had a great chuckle about that. 😆
