BIG, and very well made.
This thing is HUGE! I know what 4" is, but I was still surprised by the massive size of this bow stop when I took it out of the shipping bag. It fits the bow of my 16 foot "Modified-V" Flatbottom Aluminum Boat, fairly well -- when I compress the bow stop by winching the boat against it, the rubber conforms to the shape of the bow. The large size of the bow stop spreads the force out across a large surface area of the boat's hull. The boat STILL slides up & forward when the trailer hits a bump, so I rigged a Chain to the bow eye, angled down towards the REAR of the trailer, to act as a Hard Stop for the boat. You MUST have a Hard Stop that prevents the boat from creeping forward as it bounces down the highway, and also to keep the boat from slamming into the towing vehicle in case of an auto accident.
