I bought this bookshelf partly because it had a 5 star rating. Let me tell you, it absolutely deserves it. First, there was not a blemish anywhere on it. It was in perfect condition. Second, the hardware was a dream. Sealed in individual packets and each group labeled, it kept everything organized. Third, the instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow. I was nervous to begin, but assembly was fun. I am a 68 year old woman with very little experience in putting furniture together, and certainly not anything this complex. I did it by myself in a couple of hours. I did not use any tools other than what was included in the hardware (2 Allen wrenches and 1 Philips head screwdriver). I assembled it on top of a table so it would be easier on my back and knees, lol. The only thing I needed help with was getting it down off of the table once it was assembled. It's heavy. But that's a good thing, especially for a bookcase. The bookcase is very sturdy. Have you had a cheap bookcase before where the middle of the shelf began to sag under the weight of books? You're not going to have that problem with this unit. That's another reason I chose this particular design: each compartment is smaller and there are many supports over shorter spans, greatly limiting the likelihood of sagging. The feet have leveling screws on the bottom, so you can adjust them to sit solidly, even on uneven surfaces. My house is 125 years old and nothing is square, so this was a helpful feature to me. I'm looking forward to filling this bookcase up. It will hold books up to 12 inches tall, so keep that in mind if you have larger books. It's especially good for paperbacks and manga. It would look great filled with manga and anime figures! This was one of my best Amazon buys of all time. Highly recommended. Hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Love this shelf. I put it together easily by myself in a short amount of time. The directions were easy to follow, and the parts are clearly labeled. It seems sturdy and I think it looks great. It is a perfect storage for my grandchildren’s toys at my house!

I purchased this bookshelf as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The company that made the bookshelf actually sent an email with reminders for assembly and contact information in case there were any missing parts or if any extra information was needed. The bookshelf came complete with all parts and even extra parts, which we did not need. My husband followed the directions exactly and had no difficulty putting this bookshelf together. It is beautiful, well made, very strong, and has plenty of space. My daughter loves it and she is very happy with this bookshelf!!
