Worked like a charm. We used to have bird feeder on our deck railing that was wood. When we redid the railing, we used metal and plastic so we had no way to hang a bird feeder. This product worked well....good quality, mounts tightly as described, included the hook to hang the feeder.

the top rail on my deck is curved so i needed something that doesnt mount on top rail. this is a great choice! very sturdy and i love that the hook can swing in any direction.

It was very easy to set up and works fantastic. It is strong, well made and looks pretty. I like that it can be attached to other pillars in the garden, not only the deck, with no hole to be drilled to the support beam. It is slightly smaller than on the picture, but works better this way.

I bought this exclusively for the attachment mechanism as I already had a single piece pole I wanted to use. The attachment points work really well, even though we have those twisty metal deck railings. I have two of these. One I added some plastic tubing cut into sections (as suggested by a previous reviewer) to protect the railings and the other one I did not. they are both holding well and neither appear to be wearing out the railings (and I have 5 lbs of feed in the feeders). In order to get the pole I already had to fit, I had to muscle out the plastic sleeve that was in the pole holder, but that didn't affect the integrity or ability to hold the slightly larger diameter pole I wanted it to hold.

Easy to put up and protects the deck rail

I needed something to allow hanging of a bird feeder on my new Trex deck - but without using screws.. This product looked promising - with a design that allows attachment on the balusters. However, several problems: 1) Quality of construction was very poor - welds with parts not lined up properly. 2) Attachment to the balusters was an awkward, tedious process. 3) Once attached, with the bird feeder hung, the whole arrangement slipped easily. Others have mentioned that the manufacturer USED to provide “no slip pads” to line the clamps with, but no longer does. Some type of pads like this are ESSENTIAL for a secure attachment. So - unacceptable quality of construction, design, and performance. I quickly returned the item.

Love these for my bird feeders. I have seen the squirrel trying to get to the feeders and he cannot. I have bought four of them for my birds and hummers.
