Kiss & Blog
Kiss and Blog is an engaging and entertaining read! Alyson Noel breathes humor and life into her characters. Filled with lots of surprises and conflict, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. An awesome teen read!As freshmen at Ocean High last year, Winter and her best friend Sloane thought they could ditch their nerdy past, launching from invisible to cool. So after another miserable year of standing on the social sidelines they make a pact to do whatever it takes not to go unnoticed in their sophomore year, promising each other that whoever makes it into the cool group first will bring the other along. But once Sloane gets a taste of life on the A-list, she ditches Winter without so much as a second thought. Suddenly cast out of her former best friend's life, Winter takes revenge the modern way: by announcing all of Sloane's dirty little secrets on an anonymous blog. When the blog becomes more popular than she ever dreamed, Winter is left to decide if her retaliation is really worth the consequences--and if the price for popularity is one she's willing to pay. Once again, Alyson Noël navigates the tricky waters of the high school social scene with the heart and humor her readers have come to love.

Very entertaining
This book was so funny! When I was reading the blog and she was revealing the nasty little secrets I had a hard time not laughing out loud! The book is a great concept especially now that it seems everyone has a blog, twitter or facebook page. I did find it highly unlikely that everyone in her high school would find her blog. I mean there are how many different blogs out there? I do realize that this is fiction though and that a lot of things happen in books that would never happen in real life. I will say thought that this book a little bit of cursing in it and the main character is in a few questionable circumstance. I would rate this a definite PG13. I didn't keep it for my personal collection even though I thought it was a hilarious book. I just didn't think it would be appropriate for my 14 year old niece.

Eleanor Rigby..."All the loney pople, Where do they all belong?"
Cleverly written, gut wrenchingly honest and hysterically funny, KISS & BLOG tells one awkward misfits emotional story of sophomore year, as she struggles for relevance within the social hierarchy at her So Cal high school. Not at all the juvenile bubble gum piece I expected when I picked this book up in the bargain bin and definitely a read I'm sure that teens and adults alike will find relatable on some level. With blatant betrayal of long time friendships, public humiliation and secret crushes, Alyson Noel holds nothing back, revealing just how traumatizing and alienating life is for some outcast teens , as well as exposes the "dirty" of just how NOT great popularity often turns out to be.The reality of it... Girls can just be outright Evil to each other, especially teenage girls.

3.5 This book was really good, but a little slow to get into at first. Once Winter started her blog, I think that's when the story really started picking up. I think the story was interesting, and you could definitely tell how old she was through her point of view, but you also saw her begin to grow as a person and realize that she shouldn't be who everyone else thinks she should be.

always rereading from my tweenie bopper days
Though this book is no literary masterpiece and an over saturated use of the word "retard", the dialogue and racing thoughts, the questioning of everything as your world changes around you are all solace for the modern teen. Transitioning is rough for everyone but sometimes it feels hopeful to see someone make all the decisions instead of you and still end up okay.

Not really appropriate for the age group suggested!
I just flipped through this book as I bought it when it was on sale for my 13 yo daughter. I just wanted to make sure it was OK, no suprising graphic sex or anything. I thought it looked good until I got to the last few pages and noticed the word f___ing at least 5 times on one page. True the person speaking was upset, but I do not want my daughter to think this is an appropriate adjective to use when upset (not that she would get away with it at home!) I usually let her read most books, including the Twilight series, but do draw the line at language that graphic. I looked back at the target audience thinking I must have read that wrong, but sure enough it was for grade 7-9. I can handle her reading edgy books, but that language is just a little too mature for middle school for me.
