This "made in Taiwan" ruler is a testimonial to the ingenuity of the Taiwanese people. I have previously tried a similar product, a knockoff of Chinese origin - it was a piece of low quality junk, with rough edges and surface. PIttiful. I have promptly returned it for a refund. This ruler/cutting tool is super great! Thirty years ago I was an Interior Design student and a mat knife slipped and I cut the very end of my index finger off. Had there been this tool, I would not have had that accident.

I'm very pleased with this 18-inch safety crafting ruler; I use it with a box cutter to cut cardboard and it has given me a level of security in preventing me from cutting myself. I have other projects I intend to use it with and highly recommend.

Fantastic ruler, solid, accurate, and the flip up hand protector is awesome if you cut a lot. I have not seen anything like this anywhere, true gem.

I feel a lot safer cutting with this than with just a straight ruler. I do wish the flap was a little bit taller to make it feel even more safer. The numbers/ ruler does not start at the edge of the bar. Being in a little bit helps avoid bad measurements when the edges get banged up, but I'm trying to measure away from a wall and I have a use a different ruler for measuring and this one for cutting.

I really like this safety ruler because of it’s anodized aluminum construction, folding finger guard, and ease of use. With this tool , one can quickly and easily measure, and confidently cut straight lines without fear of finger injuries. I recommend this tool for home handymen and shops were employees do a lot of layout and cutting on flat tables.

I really like the flip up safety feature of this ruler. It will help protect my fingers when I am sewing or crafting. It is heavier than most rulers so I feel that it will stay put and the fact that the safety shield lays down makes it easy to store.

I'm a crafty type and DIY-er but can be clumsy. This ruler is a godsend and takes some of the stress out of cutting some of the tougher cards and materials. The folding finger guard means and accidental slip with a scalpel or craft knife isn't instantly going to find a finger and even if you aren't clumsy is makes it super easy to get a good purchase on the ruler. It's a lovely robust item and certainly worth the money.
