A little confusing
I have actually worked with and run fiber lighting systems before, so it isn't completely unknown to me.This uses similar connections to other systems, but then kind of doesn't actually tell you what is what.It took me a little bit to actually figure out what the "meteor" part is, and how to use it, and you basically have to make your own bundles, tape them together, insert them into the light connectors. It works, just not the simplest thing to figure out.Ignoring that, this illuminator works great, it gives a great starlight twinkle, the colors are clean and look nice. It includes enough fibers for it's planned use, which yes, is in a car. But you also, 100% don't have to do that, it runs on a 12VDC adapter, you can absolutely buy a power supply and just plug this into the wall and install it wherever you want to.It has honestly impressed me, I do recommend it, just make sure you know what you are getting into.

A beast and then some
The media could not be loaded. I've used a lot of smaller kits like this in the past and I've been very happy with them. Here though this kit it takes a different approach. It puts both the shooting star or meteor patterns onto the same controller as your main star patterns. However, you get to keep independent controls of both sections separate yet on the same a and on the same remote control. So it actually reduces your install complexities and your operational complexities later as everything is an all in one. It should also be noted that the remote control included for the kit is a RF style and not an IR (line of sight required) style. This eases your installation as you don't have to worry about direct line of site to the controller as well. Also you do not have to take your eyes off the road messing with the silly remote control if you install this in a vehicle. That in itself is a good plus one remote and it's rf based adds an exemplary safety to the usage and operation of this while driving. It should also be added that the application for connectivity is nice and smooth. To note the unit itself is almost completely when it operates. This in say a vehicle you would never hear it run anyways over the engine and car sounds and so forth. Indoors if mounted through a ceiling per se you probably wouldn't hear it either. These kits really are not that hard to install once you've done one before. But to ease that installation something that most people won't know their first time is it's better to do these in grids draw it out lay it out and do a grid pattern that way you're only working in one area at a time and you can lay everything out strand wise next to you in order. And when making the punch through for the Strand always drill from bottom side facing up when possible to prevent any drill marks. And when placing the plastic fiber through the hole come out the other side at least 1/2 inch so you can apply your adhesive and push it back into the hole and any small amount that you leave you can then trim off with a pair of sharp diagonal cutters or similar sharp shears or fiber optic cutters. This is a project that is time consuming don't rush it though. Plan it out think it out and lay it out. The end result is going to look amazing. The kit is of really good quality put the quality time into it and be happy with your investment you're going to love it. It is worth the time and therefore I also recommend this kit to others. It's got great features and it looks beautiful.

Good, but missing common smart home integration, wall adapter
So, first of all, a kit like this is a lot of work. Search someplace like YouTube for "Fiberoptic star ceiling" and look for a video of someone actually doing it.This does have some good aspects to it, like independent controls of the stars and and "meteors." I'm not a fan of a bunch of random apps on my phone for a bunch of random products. I'm also not a fan of it being advertised as "for home" but only including a "cigarette lighter" style adapter. My newer car doesn't even have one of those, either! If you want this for your home, make sure to pick up a wall adapter, and make sure you're ok with using the remote or the oddball app, to control it.

Awesome fiber optic light source.
I used this in a custom ceiling light I built for my tasting room. If you are handy with building things then this is the fiber optic light for you. There are so many possibilities for this! Its durable and easy to work with. has a bunch of fibers to work with.

Going to go in the theater....
So I've seen a lot of reviews for people using these in their cars, but I want mine for our theater/game room. Installation looks like it's going to be a pain/time consuming, but I think in the end it will be worth it. Everything needed is already in the box, so that's a plus. Instructions leave a bit to be desired, but that seems to be the norm now a days. I just went onto YouTube and looked for 'fiber optic meteor' and found several videos that helped me figure out what I want to do.This thing is very sturdy and kind of heavy. I am very hopeful that I can achieve the look that I am going after and was already impressed with how well everything is packaged! Looking forward to this project and will update along the way as necessary!

While I thought this was something completely different when interest jumped at the chances. My husband srmsrerhas a custom are related to the the ghostbusters. This meant ias a big full day project and you should have a plan ahead of time. But it’s still a really cool concept
