Versatile and Ideal when space is limited, a little expensive but worth it.
Bought these based on the five star reviews and I can say that they live up to expectations. What amounts to tens sets of dumbbells that take up a little more space than two shoe boxes is perfect when space is limited. Quick to change weights when swapping between muscle groups and needing to vary load. The shaped handle is comfortable and provides a good surface to grip, no chance of the dumbbell slipping or twisting even when hands are sweaty. Non abrasive too so no need for gloves. As others have commented they are a little noisy but not excessively so, just a gently clanking as the plates touch. The weight increments are gradual i.e 5 lbs per hand. The underside of the dumbbells have two 'handles' which are comfortable when using both arm exercises e.g. goblin squats. They appear well made and built to last. The selection mechanism is straight forward but a little care is needed to check that the pins are aligned on the same setting. No internal components to wear out or break. Very pleased with them.

Perfect for my needs
I ordered these weights on the basis of ease of use, their compact design and great reviews. I have not been disappointed. They do exactly what's on the tin. They fit nicely into a corner, can be changed quickly and in the hand they feel great. I went for these with some concern they wouldn't be enough weight but at the grand old age of 44 the weight is fine. I don't want to look like Arnie and if I want to work harder, I work smarter with the same weight and I saw the difference in a matter of two weeks. Some mention of the noise when working with them. Unless you live in a monastery it really isn't an issue, no more noise in fact less than a set of collared weights. If you need a set of weights for general fitness and a bit of muscle but don't want to look like a bag of walnuts, get these they won't disappoint.

Pleased with these
Pleased with these, a simple but effective mechanism for adjusting the weight. The weight feels well held once the pin is fully inserted and I've not had any worries about part of it falling on me even with overhead exercises. I considered the other version of adjustable dumbbells for which the weight is adjusted by turning a dial at either end - but opted for these as it appears there is less to go wrong with this mechanism in the future. They're not cheap so I'm hoping they will be durable. A few minor negatives - the pin can be fiddly to insert unless the plates are lined up properly. Also the label on the dumbbells states that the handle weighs 5 lbs. It felt a bit light for that - and at least on my kitchen scales it weighs exactly 4 lbs... All the other stated weights appear correct however, within about 500 grams.

Perfect solution for a small space
Love these! Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great way to have a full set of DBs in a small, small space. Very quick and easy to change weights. For my home I might have bought the Sports 9.0 so I could go up in weight further - but these are perfect to leave at my dad's as a mini-gym for when I am visiting. Very happy customer.

Good product
Fantastic product arrived earlier than the stated date seller sent email updates to this effect. The weights don't take up much space, I hope to enjoy the versatility of these weights for years to come.

Expensive but brilliant
These are very smooth to use, and the ingenious locking mechanism means it's not going to break like other multi weight dumbbells I've had. Very easy to change and nicely colour coded.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! These are simply fantastic! Up to 50lb each dumbbell and only takes the space of one pair BRILLIANT! Great to use. I watched the reviews on You Tube before getting these. They do make heavier ones but for pumping out the reps these are great. SO glad I got the stand too.

An absolute must despite some niggles
My Powerblock Sport 5.0, purchased from Completely Fitness on Friday 5th December, have arrived today, Monday 15th, within the estimated delivery date range. And this was a free delivery. Completely Fitness had the best overall cost (price plus shipping) and yet delivery was quick, which is brilliant so close to Christmas. So well done for that. I'm not so happy with the packaging. It looked fine on the outside, but the polystyrene top in one of the two parcels was smashed, despite the package looking in shape externally, so I had an infestation of small pieces of polystyrene in my entry hall. Those stick to everything, if you have experienced it you know how annoying it can be. I don't know if it happened in transit, and I don't know who's to blame for that. It's not a major issue but I could have done without it. I found information difficult to get online before purchasing, especially regarding the detailed specifications of the Powerblocks Sport 5.0, as opposed to the Sport 5.5 and Sport 9.0. So I will explain the main differences. I actually ordered the Sport 9.0 on eBay, and cancelled the order when I realised that the default increments, without moving the 9.0's internal add-on weights, were 10 lbs. 10 lbs increments are too large for me when doing dropsets, and I use a lot of dropsets. Moving the add-on weights takes longer than moving the pins. The point of a dropset is to switch weight fast, before the muscle can recover, so this is why I did not get the Sport 9.0. The Sport 5.0 model does not have internal add-on weights and has 5 lbs increments. This is perfect for quick and frequent changes in general, and dropsets in particular. If you prefer more increments and don't mind removing or replacing the add-on weights, you may prefer to get the Sport 5.5. If you also require expandability to bigger weight loads, the Sport 9.0 are the only ones that will give you that, at least officially, according to the current Powerblocks product range. The presence of internal add-on weights in some Powerblock models, is reported by some users to negatively affect the balance of the dumbbells. This makes complete sense as they are both placed in tubes below the hand, making the blocks "bottom heavy". The Sport 5.0 do not have this problem, and they feel good, even though they are not balanced exactly like traditional dumbbells. The increments available are 5 lbs (handle alone), then 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 lbs. This is translated on the Powerblocks' coloured labels as 4.5, 7, 9, 11.5, 13.5, 16, 18, 20.5 and 22.5 KG (the handle alone would be under 2.5 KG and that is not shown on the label). There is obviously some rounding up or down going on in the lbs to KG conversions, as the increments alternate between 2.5 KG and 2 KG. (5 lbs is really 2.727272... KG). My Powerblocks arrived in perfect condition, look and feel solid and inspire confidence. I have used them for the first time just before finishing writing this review and while it was a great experience, I have to mention some disadvantages, quirks, limitations and other things to be aware of: - The circumference of the handles is roughly 4 and ¾ inches in the middle of the handle. It flares in the middle but is not very much thinner near the extremities. I prefer chunky handles or bars despite having average to small hands for a guy. These however are a little bit too big for total comfort for me. They are ok and it's not a deal breaker, and I'll take this any day over very thin handles, but I suspect smaller guys and a lot of female users would find the handles to be just too big. (Note to the ladies: I fully respect that girls can be strong, I just refer to girls being more likely to have, on average, smaller hands). - The pin ends protrude from the side of each dumbbell. They are not very sharp but they can and do pose problems if they catch into clothing. For instance, they can catch into the legs of a short when holding the dumbbells down your sides, at the bottom position of hammer curls. This happened to me twice during my first Powerblock workout, with a pin end getting caught in my short pocket. You could swap the dumbbells around, and have the slight bulk of the magnet on the side of your shorts/thighs, which is hardly an issue and will eliminate the problem. However, if you put them directly on a Powerblocks stand after that, they'll be too close to one another to access and move the pins! So this part is badly thought out, and precludes a five star rating. In my case though, I don't have the stand and I'll just keep the magnets on the side of my body, and put them on the floor between sets or exercises, with enough space in between to move the pins comfortably. It will also make it easier to see the colour coded bars... which leads nicely on to the next point... - You do need to be very careful to insert the two pins (there are two on each Powerblock) under the same coloured bar. It's rather too easy to plug the two pins into different weight selections. The first few times you can easily get caught out. I suppose being careful will become a habit. - These dumbbells feel good, but they are not balanced like traditional dumbbells. Do not expect to roll the handles in your hands if you want to slightly correct or tighten your grip, because they will roll back, being "bottom heavy". It's good to make sure your grip is perfect before you lift them. - Some traditional dumbbell exercises are awkward or impossible with the Powerblocks. There is no way to hold them comfortably and safely for two-handed overhead dumbbell extensions (holding one dumbbell with two hands). I checked the manual and they should only be held by the handle, so the two tubes at the bottom should not be used for that purpose. Another example is wrist curls: they cannot be done with a full range of movement because the edge of the "cage" formed by the Powerblock will butt against your wrists. Now on to the good things, and there are many: - I love the Powerblocks. They are expensive for the amount of metal you get and I'm sure the profit margin must be huge, but the quick change convenience and storage advantage, not to mention the ease of transport compared to an equivalent set of dumbbells, in case you want to travel with them, are fantastic selling points. You can't argue against these kinds of advantages. It is well worth the money in terms of the benefits you get. The convenience, the time, space and weight gains, are what you pay for, beyond the physical objects themselves. - I try to make objective reviews so I have mentioned a few gripes, but overall I am delighted with my purchase. I am sure I'll get used to working around the niggly things, and thoroughly enjoy using the Powerblocks. In fact, after one single workout, I already could not go back to just using spinlock dumbbells. I used to spend so much time taking off and putting on spinlocks and moving weight plates, that workouts sometimes turned into chores, whereas I love lifting and never get that boring feeling at the gym where I just pick the pair of dumbbells I need, when I need it (well... unless someone else is using it...) Just being rid of that spinlock timewasting makes the Powerblocks well worth getting. - Compared to competing products that are shaped more like traditional dumbbells, the Powerblocks are more compact and easier to handle when fully loaded (they are only 8 and a 1/4 inch long at the minimum 5 lbs load, and only 13 inch long at the max 50 lbs load). - The finish is impeccable. No rust on mine, no problem at all with the finish or quality control. They look pristine and I expect by taking care of them they will remain in great condition for many years to come. - As a matter of fact, they come with a 15 year home use warranty. That speaks highly of the trust Powerblocks put in their products. Note however that there are exclusions: you are not allowed to drop these, which could bend some of the bars and make a Powerblock unusable. Treat them with respect, they are worth it! Just a few words to conclude: unless you have the space for a full rack of dumbbells in your home gym, Powerblocks are a must. You cannot beat them, simple as that. However, keep a set of adjustable spinlock or spring collar dumbbells for the few exercises that the Powerblocks are not good for (overhead triceps extensions, wrist curls...) You'll use the Powerblocks for most of your work: curls, shoulder presses, dumbbell lunges or squats, you name it. Just don't throw away the traditional dumbbells and you'll enjoy the best of both worlds.

I have the 5-50 lb starter set and this adder brings them to 70 lbs for each dumbell. They arrived in good packaging and undamaged. These are not meant for dropping, like while finishing a hard flat bench press set. They have worked well for me for a few years now though. I recommend both the starter set and this add on.

Ware ist gut verarbeitet. Man kann viele Übungen mit machen. Spart viel Platz allerdings sollte man sich den Ständer dazu kaufen.
