This value kit is ideal for beginners to hobby casting. Hobby casting involves melting low temperature metal like our Model Metal (alloy of lead, tin and bismuth) in our ladle over a hotplate or electric cooker and pouring it into a prepared mould. Five minutes later the mould can be unassembled and the cast figure can be removed. Prime the figure and then paint it with the acrylic provided. Other tools recommended but not included are a wire snipes and small metal file (like a nail file). The wire snipes cuts off the ingates around the figure. Ingates are metal parts that are remeltable but need to exist when casting to get the metal into the mould and to help its flow to reach all the figure's parts. Model Metal melts at about 140 Celsius but needs about 300 to 320 Celsius to cast properly with. Any cooker should suffice. Rubber is hard wearing and will allow up to 500 castings using Model Metal. It is similar to car tire rubber. Orcs are monsters that are about the size of a human, with grey or green skin and have course features. Generally brutal and single minded, they make excellent foot soldiers for any despot or villain. No assembly is required after casting these figures. Excellent for wargaming or D&D board gaming. NOTE: Care must be taken with hot metal. Surfaces can be covered with a piece of paper or a sheet of hard board to protect from marks made from any spillage of hot metal. Never use water to cool any mould or metal. Always warm and dry any mould before casting. Moulds should be stored in a cool dry and dark place as sunlight will perish rubber. Avoid using cleaning chemicals on rubber.
