Salomon Women's XA Pro 3D W Trail Running Shoe

These are great shoes! They do run long, but are narrow in the heel and mid-step which makes them perfect for me. I also have bunions and there is NO problems or irritation form the shoes. I wear a 9.5 and these fit me great at the same size. Although they look long and may be slightly longer than others, they are not clumsy. I would want the extra length to ensure my toes never touch the front of the shoes. I bought these for hiking during our Grand Canyon raft trip...they are light and offer great support. I believe Soloman makes great shoes.

I was excited to review these in hopes of helping others decide to purchase. I have worn Solomons in the past and loved them. Over the years I had changed over to Salewa's and Altra's. I hurt my Achillies and needed a different shoe that had a higher drop. These are wonderful! Super roomy in the toe box, hold my heel great, love the traction on the bottom and they are not too heavy. I did a 10 mile hike at 13,000 ft and never once had a problem with my shoes... and i bought them 3 days prior!

I have been searching for a replacement trail shoe since Inov8 stopped making my all-time favorite shoe. I have tried on every shoe in my local running stores and I have read through countless reviews for all kinds of shoes. I have to say the thing that made me buy these was the description!! Come on, bacon and she-beast, what trail loving Paleo woman out there could resist???!!! When I got the first pair they were too big. I usually wear a 9-9.5 running shoe so I got a 9...I had to go down to an 8.5. The return process could not have been any easier. I got the replacement pair in 2 days. ...Now I have to say I have not RUN in them yet. My review is based ONLY on the way they feel on my foot and how they look! I promise to come back and update this review once I've had a chance to test them out properly. I have a 50K in a couple of weeks so I'll be out there racking up the miles soon. Stay tuned for part 2 of the review... UPDATE 12/18/14 --after first run in the shoes. I did a short run I do all the time so I could compare the performance of these shoes to my old favorite. These shoes fit very differently than what I'm used to. They come up a bit higher on my ankle which I thought might be a problem. It actually felt pretty darn good. I felt like my foot had more stability than usual. While I do think I was more comfortable in my old favorites, I think these shoes will provide a good bit more control of my foot than the old shoes. It was interesting because the ground was wet; I didn't have a lot of faith this shoe would provide the traction the old shoes did, but I didn't slip on mud or rocks. The trail I was on wasn't very technical so I'll update again after a longer run on rougher trails. So far, I love them and they are performing as advertised. Now...if only they came with chocolate covered BACON!!!! UPDATE 12/24/14--Okay...I took these babies out on a more technical trail today and it was VERY wet, not just a little wet like it was last time. FAIL. I slid on every single big wet rock out there. Little rocks were fine, regular trail was fine. Also, the shoes I had before were Gortex and they kept my feet really dry unless I was in water that was over the top of the shoe. I found out quickly today that was not going to be the case with these shoes. The worst part is that they do NOT drain-AT ALL. The upside to all of it is that my ankles felt very protected. Today's conditions were on the more extreme side of things so I will say I do still love the shoes and would still give them 4 stars. However, if you are going to run on wet rock (like slabs of rock not "rocks"), beware--you'll be ice skating more than running.

have a pair of these in 9 1/2 and they're a tad big, but have great arch support and on the narrow side. it's so difficult to find sneakers with good arch support and on the narrow side, decided to get another pair - this time in a 9. they fit beautifully, more on the medium side, but the laces make it easy to narrow them, and great arch support. highly recommend. update - bought another pair size 9 and they're perfect. super arch support. have high arch and tough to find shoes with good arch support. also have narrow foot, and although these are medium (b), the lacing system makes it easy to fit the shoe to my foot. am getting another pair in the future. highly recommend.

I have been wearing this type Salomon shoe for 10 years and have purchased at least 8 pair. This pair, purchased in December 2016 seems to be either defective or a "knock off". I have never had to "break in" these shoes even right out of the box. However, this pair rubbed blisters on the outside of my little toes and big toes. I investigated by comparing the inside of this pair to previously purchased pairs. the seams on the inside were ragged and cheaply sewn. Also, on previous pairs, there is a nylon "sleeve" covering the tongue of the shoe and the left and right inside of each shoe. The purpose of that obviously is to prevent the harder material and seams from rubbing blisters on your feet. For some reason, this pair did not have that inner sleeve/lining to prevent the rubbing. Now that I have worn these shoes trying to "break them in" I cannot return them even though they appear to be defective or knock offs that I paid $130 for. Disappointed.

I stumbled on these trail runners about 4 years ago. I was using Brooks trail runners (also excellent shoes, but quite pricey), but had to downsize the cost because of how quickly I was going through them.. These shoes are super comfortable, and the tread lasts for forever - and grips as good as any other trail runner or hiking shoe that I’ve ever owned - and that’s saying something!. I love the quick laces too - super fast to adjust. If you’re looking for a great shoe that’s worth the cost, you’ve come to the right place!

These shoes are incredible! Best ones yet! So supportive and stable! Buy them! Makes your knees feel good

I had just bought a pair of Salomon x-wind pros and the size 6 was a little roomy in the toe box but actually very comfortable for me. I ordered this pair in the 5.5 since the x-wind pros were roomy. These 5.5 were actually just a smidge larger than the size 6 wind-pros! They felt larger on the foot, and when I lined the bottoms up they were definitely slightly longer than the x-wind pros which were a half size up. (For reference, a size 6 in Asics is a perfect fit for me, and I'm a 6 to 6.5 in New Balance.) I found these also to be stiffer than my w-wind pros, and a little more clunky. There is substantial arch support, but it is higher toward the inside of the foot than the outside, so it feels a little uneven. Still deciding whether to keep or return.

Un classique! Je trouve ces chaussures confortables et pratiques. Je les utilise pour marcher ou pour la vie courante. Pas de trail. Les semelles sont rigides comme il faut, bon maintien. La semelle intérieure est amovible et permet d'insérer éventuellement des semelles orthopédiques. Quant à l'usure de la semelle, cela me semble correct. Quand celle-ci est usée, c'est que l'amorti n'est plus bon, donc de toute manière je dois changer la chaussure même si celle-ci paraît encore potable. La couleur vert "sapin" est un plus, ça change de toutes les couleurs pastels habituelles.

Son muy cómodas y repele el agua.

I love the amount of foot support these shoes give. They make walking really easy and comfortable. I have 2 pairs and wear them most of the time.

la semelle est assez dure et peut faire un peu mal en fin de journée, je dois l'essayer plus longtemps pour me faire une meilleure idée mais la qualité est là, la couleur est sympa le bout est bien dur pour éviter les coups sur les doigts de pied
