This set is good for a beginner who is just getting into sketching. I did notice that they shorted me the lightest shade and included a duplicate of a different pencil instead, so I deducted a star.

This set of graphite pencils come in a range of 2H to 14B as a 12-pack. They are pre-sharpened. They are solid sturdy pencils and I have not had any breakage during use. The linework, shading, and blending I have done with them all look smooth and fine on the sketch pad. For this value, the quality of these sketching pencils is excellent, and I am quite pleased with them.

These are impressive! Differing widths of leads for the artist!

These graphite pencils are an affordable set that have a very nice range of value intensities going from a light 2H to the darkest 14B. As an art teacher I appreciate the inclusion of pencils darker than 8B even though the risk of the lead breaking increases the darker you go (the lead becomes softer). The wood covering the pencils is decent although it’s nothing compared to the more fancy expensive brands like Caran D’ache. As long as you treat these pencils reasonably (don’t drop them) the wood casing should not split/ the lead should not break.

These are a gift for my nephew who enjoys drawing and sketching, so I was not able to use them myself, but they look like quality pencils.

When you are in school, you always use a #2 pencil. In fact, until recently, I hadn't given much thought to pencils.Now that I am getting more into sketching, it turns out- pencils really matter! This set has 12 different pencil lead harnesses, which helps you make exactly the right line weight and shading.
