A winter-bicycling solution for warm hands.
I travel by bicycle during all four seasons, which means I often pedal through some painfully cold environments. The most brutal day I’ve experienced was not at extreme sub-freezing temperatures. Those are manageable when it’s dry out. No, the most brutal day was in Washington State when it rained and drizzled all day and the temperatures hovered near freezing. For me, moist cold is far worse than dry cold, and, as always, it was wet for days in the Pacific Northwest that winter.I’m able to keep most of myself warm regardless, given the heat I generate while pedaling, but not my hands, and I’ve tried some rather expensive waterproof, dual-layer glove solutions. When biking, your gloved hands are in stationary positions on the grips of your handlebars, and thus exposed to constant wind. My average speed is 12mph, so whatever gloves I’m wearing must resist a relative wind of that speed, hour after hour. The rest of me stays warm enough, because blood circulates well through moving muscles, but my poor hands are stationary and are thus the last parts of me to warm up. Well, plus the tip of my nose. While scanning Amazon for another winter-glove option, I noticed these neoprene gloves, and my immediate thought was, “Duh! Why haven’t you tried neoprene?” I mean, what’s wetter and colder than scuba diving in frigid waters? Neoprene is what divers wear.So I tested a pair of Neo Gear Pro’s gloves, and I’m happy to say, so far, so warm! The coldest pedaling conditions I’ve endured since receiving them was 22ºF, but that too was an especially wet, drizzly/sleety day, and my hands remained dry and comfortable throughout.I have slim hands but fingers long enough that I usually buy a men’s size large. After reading NeoGear’s size chart and actually measuring my hands, though, I opted for mediums, and that size fit like, well, a glove. Snug enough for reasonable dexterity but not so snug as to inhibit blood flow, and the finger lengths are just right. The texture on the palm side of the gloves is perfect for gripping wet ropes and tools, as well as handlebars. Overall fit and finish is also top notch, and the cuff lengths are, in my opinion, ideal.I can’t attest yet to longevity. They’re the first neoprene gloves I’ve tried, so I’ve no way to estimate durability, but they feel robust enough to withstand any challenges I’m likely to encounter.Hope this helps. Clear skies!

Pretty warm, SUPER DRY, but some fingers are too long
EDIT TO UPDATE JAN 14, 2024:WHAT I SAID IN MY FIRST REVIEW: These are pretty warm. Maybe not as warm as insulated ski gloves, but they keep me warmer than a lot of the other "work gloves" I have.WHAT I SAY NOW: Oh my goodness, I'm coming back to update my review because I just used these for an hour straight in wet, snowy, just-above-freezing temperatures to clear snow and a giant river of blocked water from the road in front of my house. I thought I had done a really good job of keeping my hands and gloves dry because I felt so dry and warm the whole time, and then I finished up and went inside and took the gloves off and they were SOAKING ON THE OUTSIDE and DRY AS A BONE INSIDE. Also, they didn't dry out my hands like fleece-lined gloves would. They are head-and-shoulders better at snow work than any other glove I own. These are now my favorite winter work gloves and I do hope they fix the long sizing on the index and thumb like I originally mentioned below. But I'm upgrading my review from 4-stars to 5-stars because any other minor flaws they have just got crushed under the success of doing the one thing winter work gloves are supposed to do: keep your hands warm and dry.THE REST OF MY ORIGINAL REVIEW TEXT FOLLOWS:They are reasonably durable. I cut tree branches for about 2 hours while wearing these and observed only a small cut in the rubbery hand-grip. I think that I could run the snowblower for years with these and not worry about durability, but I think I may stick with insulated leather work gloves for heavier things like shovel work, landscaping, etc.One thing that will keep me from using them when doing any detail work is that the index finger and the thumb are too long. I don't think I have oddly-shaped hands, but I do think these gloves are a bit long on the index and thumb. My middle, ring, and pinky fingers were snug in the glove, but the other two had floppy extra fabric. Since the foam is stiff, you cannot scrunch them tight onto your finger; they will always be a bit floppy. So I could never grab a drill bit or a screw while wearing these gloves.

Excellent quality waterproof gloves that keep your hands toasty
These gloves appear to have very high manufacturing standards. The stitching is all very high precision with no visible blemishes. The rubber on the palms is grippy and textured but not too thick. The seams at the end of the fingers are further toward the tops of your fingernails rather than your fingers so they don't get in the way of using your hands without annoying bumps.I generally wear a medium in work gloves as I prefer a snug fit and these fit my hands very well. These gloves will DEFINITELY keep your hands warm in just about any weather, but with one caveat: you won't be doing any work that requires fine dexterity or details. The warmth comes at the price of being able to manipulate small objects. Heck, even pulling your phone out of a pocket is fairly tricky with these gloves but the manufacturer clearly wasn't making knitting gloves...they were making high quality gloves for warmth and they certainly achieve that.I look forward to trying these out in some of the colder winter days here in Idaho!UPDATE: I already had the opportunity to use these gloves in the mountains of Idaho while cutting my own Christmas tree. The gloves kept my hands warm and dry despite knee-deep snow and rain. Very happy with these gloves!
