Still a very new collector of Lego with only a few Star wars kits under my belt I was blown away with both the complexity of the built and the functions that the technic produced. As a Dune fan I have always loved the Ornithopter concept and design (Often reminds me of the Orca from Command & Conquer) so the chance to get a model this size with the movement it offers the price feels a lot but If I think of it as a scale model it would be cheap. For the build it was complicated, I build a lot of gunpla so I was prepared, and I can see it being really tough for kids. This a adult level kit for sure. Looks & Play are amazing, yeah there's a lot of little color on display but that's fine for me when I think about what it can do, the landing gear being deployable and the wings sweeping and flapping are just fantastic and sell it set for me alone really. Plus some great minifigs which while not stellar are a welcome extra. I think this set is worth getting if your a Lego fan and want the build challenge but if your a Dune fan it's almost a must have for a collection.

It was a joy building this ornithopter and the finished product looks amazing. It's very sturdy and great as a display but can easily be used for play because of how well made it is.

Love this Lego set. Was such a fun build, the mini figs really are something else, and honestly. Who would have grown up thinking you could get a Dune Lego?

Had a lot of fun in the building process. It took me multiple hours to build and comes with a very thick instruction manual and separated sections in different packets. A great combination of LEGO technic parts and standard LEGO pieces. The wings can be folded away for display and the landing gear/legs can be folded away for a 'flight' mode. Definitely not aimed at most kids, but well suited for adults or older teens. Purchased at ~£110. Only downside is that the set of 'wings' I have, bend unevenly, so one side of the wings hang a lot lower than the other and appear wonky. This is the only reason I have given the model 4 instead of 5 stars, as it is quite jarring. Aside from that, the model is almost perfect, and matches the Ornithopter design from the films very well!

I bought this as I buy quite a bit of Star Wars Lego and wanted a change. I’ve always loved Dune movies so to have this available from the latest ones was too good to pass up. I did the build over a couple of nights, there were a few fiddly bits but nothing too difficult. The effort that has gone into all the technics functionality of this piece by the LEGO designer is astounding. It will have a special slot on my wall very soon and I will enjoy looking at it and the fun I had building it. It does look great and all the functions work really well. It’s a No brainer for me, definitely recommended for any LEGO fan and especially any that are a fan of the movie(s) / Lore or just want a different kind of show piece.

STAYED UP ALL NIGHT TO CONSTRUCT THE LEGO ORNITHOPTER, I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. FROM START TO FINISH, WITH REGULAR BREAKS, THE TASK WAS COMPLETED IN 12 HOURS. FINGERS AND WRISTS ARE VERY SORE BUT THE FINISHED SHIP WAS WORTH IT. HALFWAY THROUGH, DURING THE LINKAGE PROCESS, I TESTED THE MOVEMENT, BUT IT DIDN'T MOVE AS MUCH AS I THOUGHT IT SHOULD LEAVING ME TO WONDER IF I HAD CONNECTED IT INCORRECTLY. I WAS MATICULOUS FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS SO PUTTING MY WONDERING TO THE BACK OF MY MIND, I CONTINUED ON. AT THE END, MY WONDERING HAD BEEN ALL FOR NOTHING AND THE SHIP FUNCTIONED AS IT SHOULD, FROM MANOUVERING THE LANDING GEAR, MAKING THE WINGS FLY AND FOLDING THEM FOR A DIP DIVE OR STORAGE. NOT ONE PART WAS MISSING OR LEFT OVER! THE DISPLAY LOOKS GREAT! DETAIL IS THERE! SIZE IS APPROPRIATE ALTHOUGH A LITTLE ON THE LARGE SIZE, A BIT EXPENSIVE BUT YOU GET THE ENJOYMENT OF BUILDING THE SHIP AND THEN PUTTING IT ON DIPLAY FOR ALL TO SEE. COME TO THINK OF IT! IT WOULD'AVE BEEN BETTER IF LEGO HAD INCLUDED RECESSES OR GROOVES FOR ANY WIRING TO ACOMMODATE THE LIGHTS THAT ARE SEPERATE TO THIS PURCHASE. WHEN THE BRICKS ARE RETURNED AFTER ANY WIRING IS INSTALLED, THE BRICK SITS ON THE WIRE WHICH LIFTS THE BRICK SLIGHTLY OFF ITS INITIAL POSITION. MY ONLY RESOLVE TO THIS WAS TO GLUE THE BRICK DOWN OR CREATE A CHANNEL USING A MINI HACK-SAW OR FILE. NOW FOR THE LIGHTS! AS SOON AS I HAVE RESTED MY HANDS AND CAUGHT UP ON MY SLEEP. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I bought this for my start wars geek husband. He loves it
