Q: What’s the difference between the r18rs-0 and the rrs1801m? unfortunately the amazon description of the r18rs-0 is for a lead blower 🤔

The rrs1801m has a 22mm stroke and runs at 3,100 rpm, whilst the r28rs has a 28.3mm stroke and runs at 2,900 rpm. The r18rs has an improved anti-vibration system. It also has a cut capacity of 200mm in wood compared to 180mm of the rrs1801m.

Q: What is the maximum cut in wood? From description: 200 mm maximum cut in wood. But the longest blade I can find is 152 mm. How can it cut 200 mm?

I had a look, again, at the brief instructions and the packaging. The only place I can see 200mm mentioned is on the side of the box. In the Amazon product page it states the maximum cut, in wood, is 200mm. I suspect this is referring to the capability of the motor rather than the actual cutting length. You can appreciate that if the blade/ cut length is longer then it requires more effort from the motor to pull the blade through that much extra length/depth of wood. Standard blades, as you say, are about 150mm. However, if you search on Amazon for “long reciprocating saw blades” you will find a number available, some that are over 300mm. Please note:if you choose to use blades over 200mm you may well burn out the motor because the load is too high. This would invalidate your warranty.

Q: Would this be suitable for cutting down small saplings?

The R18RS is capable of cutting up to a max of 180mm so it will be able to cut saplings up to this dia.
