SanabulMens Compression Shorts for Martial Arts BJJ Grappling Nogi Shorts

I bought my first pair of these for BJJ class about 2 years ago, and they feel great under a gi and are good for training.That being said, I am writing this review to say I have since replaced all of my underwear with these BJJ compression shorts. I'll wear a medium during training for the compression, and a large for a slightly looser fit all day under any clothing. The material is slippery against fabric, so unlike boxer briefs, they never ride up into your crotch during the day. The material is also great at wicking away moisture, so even when it's hot and muggy outside, you will always stay dry. The compression keeps all of your valuables right where you put them, so you won't need to adjust during the day.If you want to go swimming, throw a pair of liner-less trunks over these, and when you get out of the pool you can lay in the sun for 20 minutes and be completely dry.That first pair I bought 2 years ago is still holding up after after wearing them once a week every week for the entire day. Highly recommended product.

Really impressed with the fabric material quality.The material is soft, smooth and silky. It's also very durable. Great for jiujitsu and MMA trainers. The length is nice and long. The colors are so bright and vibrant. Fabric doesn't move around during jiujitsu. Quality, smooth, durable martial and colors.Of note: This isn't the thickly lined material that guys wear for MMA. In the case of the shorts models, this is the under armour-type garment that you would wear under MMA or exercise/fitness shorts. I wish this company also made the thicker, designed to be worn alone, MMA or fitness style layers. Of course, tops can be worn alone.My husband does wear these tops alone or the shorts, above silky sport boxer briefs, "alone" to places like hot yoga and sometimes to jiujitsu no-gi. He always wears these under his gi. Great layer for under gi's.My husband is 6'2", 210-215lbs, long and lean, 32-34 waist, but broad-chested and muscular. I got him the large in both these shorts and the long-sleeved top. They fit perfectly. He normally wears a large in fitted, stretchy athletic wear like this. So it's true to size.

I decided to try the "Sanabul Men's Compression Base Layer Workout Shorts" because I have heard that the Sanabul products are decent and the price is about half of the other compression shorts I have been wearing. I used their size chart, but the shorts were a little too loose. They will work, but the tightness is more like an athletic boxer brief not a true compression. My main complaint is the stitching. The actual sewing looks durable, but the thread material is course/rough feeling. Unfortunately the stitching runs on the inner thigh and where the boys hang. It feels like there is a zipper or maybe 80 grit sandpaper rubbing in those areas. I attempted to wash the shorts hoping the thread would soften up but it did not. I think I could survive wearing these for an hour BJJ class. It wouldn't always be comfortable and I'm concerned I might encounter raw sack. These will get you by if you're on a budget, but I'd recommend spending more and trying something else.

Sanabul is consistent with quality for price. I have four pairs of these. They're great under my muay thai shorts. Great fit and comfort, and no one gets flashed during traing.
