What a clever invention - these electrical wire cable connector terminal blocks are so simple to use - they have a push click system so no need for screw driver and they hold the cable tight.

Very handy to have in toolbox

If you regularly do electrical work and are still using old fashioned screw-in terminal blocks, these will change your life; no more screwing to be done. They are certainly more expensive but the convenience is undeniable.There are several manufacturers in the market; I started with the tried and tested Wagos but these are cheaper and offer some nice features like their Lego-like stackability; if you have three wires to connect you can slot three of these units together (see photo) - or two, or five; whatever.The ports are large and deep enough to accommodate the wire insulation before clamping the wire, leaving no exposed metal core. There is a small testing port in the middle into which a small electrical screwdriver or probe can be inserted to test continuity if needed. It is far too small for fingers, which is the intention.To demonstrate that they do hold wires securely I connected two cut strands together using a single unit and then suspended a 2.3kg container of Coke syrup from this; it held without problem. Of course, this isn't what they are designed for but it shows that you can trust them to clamp the wire securely!My toolbox isn't complete nowadays without some of these in it.

These a great for wiring repairs and the clamp mech handles both solid and stranded cables - simply strip to length and clamp down.Remember that any hidden terminal connectors and blocks will need a separate box that covers the connector - these are the UK regs.Great value and handy to have in your toolkit, at a price that trounces the big branded options.

These single way connectors are similar to other brands in what they do. The moulding and construction is slightly on the budget side but it's nothing to worry about. There are no sharp edges or flash lines that get in the way of their operation. The only real issue I experienced with the moulding is that some of the connectors are difficult to slot together. It's a case of they either work they take two or three goes to slot together.They are definitely worth a go.
