G.I. Joe Classified Series #118, Iron Grenadier Metal-Head, Deluxe Collectible 6-Inch Action Figure with 28 Accessories

Although I remember seeing this guy in the Second GI Joe series, he was made to be comic relief. The whole series was comical and silly and sometimes stupid. However I did love seeing new characters and older ones as well. Metalhead the design for him was pretty cool. I didn't see it in the comics. I wasn't in to comics by the time the series aired. I'm sure He was more impressive in Marvel comics version. I've loved GI Joe since I was a kid. I'm still Collecting the figures. I guess you could say I'm a kid at heart.Yo! Joe!

As always with Classified figures, there are manufacturing issues such as the arms on the backpack being loose and not holding their position, but if you collect these figures then you already expect that to be the case. Looks amazing regardless.

As the first Classified figure from the Iron Grenadier sub-group, Metal-Head makes a strong impression with a blast. He comes with a good amount of accessories that make him worth suitable for a deluxe figure. There are three different head pieces so you can choose how you want him to be look either classic or modernized. I decided to go with the iconic target visor because that's how he looked in the dic 90s cartoon where I first knew about him. The paint apps look stunning on him and I like the gold Destro logo on his right shoulder as a sign of his allegiance to the Iron Grenadiers even though the box marks him as Cobra. Out of the box, there are eight missiles and their corresponding blast effects can be plugged into the rocket launcher slots, a laser submachine gun and assault rifle that's reused straight from the Cobra Valkyrie set but painted with a nice red coating to match with Metal-Head's armor. Finally, he has smooth articulation around the ankle and elbow joints, arms and leg swivel and head can look up or down easily. Unfortunately his torso swivel feels a bit loose as his body mold is based on Firefly V2 but not too loose compared to the latter. The backpack however is where most of the flaws come from this figure. When I took it out, the wires and rocket launcher pods broke apart easily. I didn't know you were supposed to assembled them because I thought it was a single piece. This makes trying to place the backpack and posing the figure annoying at times as the wires pop out quickly when you so much try to adjust the pod's direction. Also you can't place the rockets only and it has to be done with the blast effects inserted first. Overall, this is an awesome figure but the execution for the missile launcher accessories leaves to be desired.

Amazing price after a nice wait this figure kept going down on price with great sales and now under $25! Retail was at 38.99! Thank you for this great value deal!

I LOVED this figure growing up in the late 80s early 90s and this classified version really brings him to the next level!Absolutely packed with accessories, 3 alternate head looks: a helmet, hair with no goggles and a classic goggle head hair attachment. Two assault weapons and a fixed blade knife. So cool and a must for any Joe fan!
