Reasonable
I've worn these gloves for two winters now, walking with my dog in all weathers and thought it appropriate at this time to write a review. These are reasonable quality gloves, relatively warm and look quite nice.In terms of warmth I would rate them at about 5 out of 10, (10 being a pair of proper mountaineering gloves with an insulating layer and 1 being the acrylic wool knitted gloves you see in many high street shops). The knitted cuff on these gloves is an excellent feature that provides a good seal against the wrist and stops bitter winds entering your gloves or coat sleeves. For hour long walks in typical British winter weather they are quite good. If however you will be standing around in the cold, without moving, for long periods, then I suggest you look for something warmer or else add a silk glove liner perhaps. In regard to stitching quality, after the first week of wearing these, treating them gently, the stitching on the backs of the hands came loose in three places where there is a gathered bit of detailing. I snipped the loose thread off and delicately singed the remaining loose threads with a match which appears to have solved the problem. I was a little disappointed by this however, hence my rating. The other detail, which I concede is entirely subjective, and to be fair is shown clearly in these photos, is the Air Force logo. It is large, gaudy and makes the gloves look cheap, which otherwise they do not. I bought a brown leather dye, buffed off the logo gently with leather sanding paper and dyed the area afterwards to conceal it.I have accidentally allowed these gloves to become wet recently, in a heavy downpour and while removing snow from my car. They have withstood this abuse well and dried, (slowly away from any direct source of heat), without cracking or splitting. I use leather cream to maintain and clean them and they remain respectable looking.Sizing in the Medium I ordered is absolutely average. My hands are towards the wider end of the Medium size but these gloves stretched modestly with wear to fit well. Length is average too in my size.In conclusion these are a decent glove for the money, not astounding in terms of warmth or quality but good nonetheless. Had the stitching been better finished when I received them I would have given four stars. The knitted cuff provides a good fit in cold weather and the brown leather looks nice. I would prefer them without the logo. It is difficult to find a leather glove with a knitted cuff in this style so I would say they are worth the modest cost but check the stitching carefully when you first receive them. I hope this has been helpful.
