Mindblowing sense numbing hit you like a car crash
Back in 1991 i was a student in UCD, Dublin Ireland. I heard of this guy called henry rollins whom was doing a spoken word gig at the baggott inn. I wandered along out of curiousity and left a different person. I had booked a ticket to see red hot chilli peppers the following day in the SFX. Turned out they were backed up by Rollins band. I remember every moment of the support act Rollins band. I was transfixed by Rollins on stage. i can still smell the sweat and blood and alcahol at the front of the crash barriers. Rollins band were promoting 'End of Silence' THeres nothing nice, groovy , or uplifting about this album. It is the most intense violent spine chilling heart ripping music Ive ever heard. THis is the type of Music I would go in to battle with.Buy it.

God's jack-hammer.
Stunning. "Blues Jam" turns me inside out every time.Henry is one of the great humanists, wits and performers of our age, see him live and you won't need to see anyone else, ever.

Yes!
It doesn't get any better than this. Savage, clever, intense, thoughtful, mindless, angry, forceful, grinding, funky, loose, heavy, tight, nasty RAWWWWK!!! Buy, buy, buy!

White knuckling emotion in its purest form.
My music tastes are predominately Black/Brutal Death Metal through and through; as the emotion of these genres kicks in like no other. However there is one album whilst obviously different from the aforementioned genres, which sublimely captures the blunt existence of lifes encompassing solitude, depression, fear and rage like no other.' End of Silence ' is the true depiction of man as an island; alone; shredded to the core; cleansed solely by the inhalation of the disgust which surrounds him; whilst exhaling with true grit the compression of these emotions which in time expose him for the vulnerable being that he is.

The End Of Silence is golden
Is this the best Rollins Band record. Perhaps, perhaps not. Is it ear shatteringly, do I dare say groundbreaking stuff, and that there is nothing else to comapre it with out there, which even comes close, then yes it certainly is. 'Tearing' and 'You didn't need' are probably the finest songs about love falling apart you will hear. ' Just like you' is an ear splitting finale. In all if you only ever own one Rollins Band album (shame on you) then make this the one.
