Blocks all light from coming through the bottom of the door. In a house with all vinyl flooring, sound travels like crazy but this does a good job of blocking out sound from the common areas into the rooms.

It’s hard to tell based on pictures of this would have been a tough or soft material. I initially thought it would be tough. It’s actually thin, flexible, light, and has pieces of styrofoam lining the inside. It feels cheap. I thought I was sent the wrong size, but it stretches and if you add the extra styrofoam it goes from 28” to 36”. It took a few installs and tests, as well as cutting the outer foam to fit the door jamb better. There’s Velcro on the inner jamb side to help keep it set and stable. I feel it does the job of preventing wind drafts, and blocking insects and rodents from crawling under the door from the hallway.It’s decent. It on par with the ones we’ve gotten in the past from Home Depot. It feels similarly cheaply made, thin, lightweight, but costed about $5 more so the feel of value is definitely very diminished.

My tiny house does not have proper ventilation, so the cooking smells (while delicious) end up in the bedroom and home office, due to the tiny gap underneath the doors. While the original reason for this purchase is for blocking smells, the other added bonus is it really contains the heat from the heater in the bedroom at night. The assembly is super quick and easy. This draft stopper stays snug on my door and moves easily on the wooden floors. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I would not purchase this product again because it does not cover the whole door completely so this product is defective.

Trying keep my nephew putting stuff under the doors but it didn't work

While it is customizable, my intention was to use it for the front door of my apartment. However, it was plain that it would not work, as I have a "threshold" that literally cracked the outside facing styrofoam. It doesn't work under that situation at all. I ended up cutting it down to try to get it to work. To no avail whatsoever. Also, even if I could have made it work, it would have meant removing my inside doormat permanently. That trade off is not even thinkable. The only door where I was able to use it was my bedroom door but again that meant removing a small scatter rug on lovely parkay floors and that too is debatable. Also, it emits an audible but not deafening "slide along the floor" sound. Can't image the dust bunnies on a daily basis. So, unless you have a non-threshold door entrance as well as a clear arc with no scatter rugs,etc, this may work for. Still debating if it is worthwhile on my bedroom door which means re-arranging scatter rugs in that room.

Bought this to keep the warmer air from infiltrating our a/c cooled bedroom. Easy to cut to size and does a great job!
