This material is very stiff and rough feeling coming out of the package. I was concerned that I had not chosen well and would not be able to use it for my project. It feels like garden flag material, kind of horrible really. However, I put it thru the wash, and was very happy to pull out a silky soft length of material that I had hoped for. It must have a lot of sizing on it. I found no slubs or irregularities in the material and the color is beautiful and saturated. I am very happy with it.

Beautiful fabric

I’m not real good at sewing but this material is beautiful so I wanted to try it ! Even though I messed up a few times, the project came out pretty enough that I get compliments on it. It’s a nice thickness, satiny soft, and hopefully it will be durable. I realized late in the project that I needed to adjust sewing machine settings for this material.

I purchased this black jacquard satin fabric to make a belt/sash, and overall I’m quite satisfied with the quality for the price. The fabric has a nice subtle sheen and a classic damask pattern that looks elegant, especially in black. It feels smooth and has that typical satin finish, which works great for decorative or statement pieces. As expected with jacquard satin, the fabric does fray during cutting and sewing. I wouldn’t consider this a downside, just something to be aware of if you’re working with this type of material. Proper edge finishing (serger or zigzag stitch) is definitely needed. Once sewn and finished, the fabric holds its shape well and performs nicely in wear. My finished piece looks neat and feels durable enough for regular use. One of the biggest advantages is the price — I compared several similar fabrics, and this one offers a really good balance between cost and quality. Pros: • Elegant pattern and subtle shine • Good value for the price • Smooth texture • Looks great in finished projects Cons: • Frays easily (typical for this fabric type) The fabric is lightweight and relatively thin rather than dense. In direct sunlight it can appear slightly sheer, which is typical for this kind of satin and something to keep in mind depending on your project. Overall, a solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable jacquard satin for sewing projects.

Absolutely beautiful fabric! I ordered the blue and the green

Excellent it came early and was just what I wanted.

Fabric seems very thin when you receive it, apparently due to a processing finish. Just wash it and it blooms into the most beautiful, silky lining fabric. Washed on warm with cold rinse, NO fabric softener, dried on low/damp dry, hung to finish drying and NO ironing. I use this to line pockets and make garment bags to store my ‘off season’ clothes. Also used to make custom size cosmetic bags.
