Worked great for a puncture
Just weeks after installing this tube my tire was punctured by a goat head thorn. I discovered it at the end of the ride as the tire was losing air. I pulled the sticker out and continued to ride for a few minutes to distribute the slime and the puncture sealed perfectly. I have about 100 more miles on that tire and it is holding air perfectly. I recommend this tube.

Best product of its type at any price - see update.
The ultimate answer to a bicycle-tourist's/commuter's prayers! I've been using these tubes for about 15 years and in that time I've NEVER had to stop on the road to repair a puncture. Sure, if a thorn or whatever goes through the tire & tube it will eventually go flat (generally, but occasionally not) but instead of taking minutes, these tubes can take days or weeks to finally lose pressure and they're patch-able then, anyway. Highest recommendation for this product!Actually, since I've combined these tubes with Contenental's Touring Plus puncture-resistant tires, I've never had a flat, period. And that's true after having worn out three sets of these tires. No flats in about three and one half years and probably 10,000+ miles. What more could anybody want??Update!Yes, after all these years and miles I finally had a puncture that required an on-the-road repair. A HUGE wedge-shaped piece of glass put a 1/2 inch gash in the tire and tube when I was flying down Boulder Canyon on the 12% downhill grade above Boulder Falls. Probably around 55 MPH in that thin mountain air & with a little tailwind to boot when it happened. The slime tube managed to hold enough air long enough for me to finally get stopped and replace it with the spare tube I always carry (yeah, I believe in double-redundancy) and put a folded dollar-bill in the tire for a boot to get home. Amazingly, the tire still had about 15 PSI in it and had stopped leaking when I took it off to fix it.No way would I have gotten stopped safely with a conventional tube - and it wouldda been damn ugly, I can tell you that.Still the best product of its type on the market, hands-down!

Confirm Valve (Presta vs. Schrader) Before Ordering!
While I ordered the correct size Slime tube for my 26" bike, I had no idea I'd ordered the wrong valve! I have a Huffy women's cruiser, and the original tires/tubes came with the standard Schrader valve. If you have an air pump designed for a Schrader valve, be aware that it will NOT work on a Presta valve. Make sure you order the correct valve tube to begin with. If you accidentally order the wrong kind (as I did), you can either return it for the correct tube or order Slime's Presta-to-Schrader valve adapter. (Apparently I'm not the only person who has ordered the wrong valve!)I ended up replacing the Presta-valve tube I'd ordered with a Schrader-valve tube, so this 5-star review is technically for the Schrader tube on my bike. Considering the amount of debris in the bike lanes around our neighborhood, the Slime tube has held up very well. My original (non-Slime) tube got a puncture, and my husband purchased a bottle of Slime to try to repair it. It held up for a while, until I got another larger puncture. I have since replaced both tires and replaced the existing tubes with Slime's Smart Tubes. The new tires and tubes have held up nicely and I haven't had any more flats since I replaced them. I'm very happy with the Slime Smart Tube and would purchase it again -- but I'll be sure to double-check the valve before ordering next time!

Bit heavy, bet well worth the extra weight.
I used these for the first time with my road bike and have never looked back. The gel inside makes them a bike heavier than normal inner tubes, but in my experience they really do help with punctures. I got these as an alternative to the puncture resistant bike tires, which are okay, but honestly when you do eventually get a puncture they are extremely difficult to get on and off from the wheel because they tend to be much more rigid than the non-puncture resistant tires. As an anecdote about the slime inner tubes, I once had a thorn puncture my road bike tire to the extent that it was spraying slime out as I was riding. The slime still managed to plug the hole and I was able to re-inflate the tube enough to cycle back home. I now use these tubes on my commuter bike as well. Probably one of the best cycling purchases I've made. (Maybe don't use them if you're racing though, as they do add a bit of weight to your bike!)

Very disappointed - Stem Valve Came Out
What can I say...too late to return this. I was trying to replace a punctured tube on my mountain bike and this tube would not hold air. I thought it was just the valve sticking until I put it in the tire and mounted it on the rim. That's when to my surprise I found that the valve stem came loose from the tube. I've never had this happen with any other tube. I'm not buying the slime tubes again. In fact, I'll stick with local dealers so I can return defective products more easily. All I can say is I'd be livid if this happened while I was 20 miles from home (of course I'd still have a patch kit with me)...Update October 2011: It's also very difficult to pump air into these tubes now. I think the valves have become gunked up and stiff. Unfortunately the also squirt slime at your eyes when you are too close while trying to disengage the pump. I hate to trash a product like this, but I just don't think the slime are worth the trouble. They've held up well, but there's no way to know if it really works to seal small holes - I've never found any little green spots on the old tubes. The one time I did get a flat from a nail, there was so much slime on the tube that I couldn't patch it.Update June 2013: I still had 2 slime tubes on my road bike (700 X 23 Presta) - and again, the valve stem broke off on one of them, at least it lasted a couple years. Also - very difficult to get air into them after letting the bike sit for a long time. Gonna have to stick with my 1 star review - obviously I'll never purchase a green slime tube again.

Great tire
Highly recommend if you want to abuse your tire.If you're experiencing issues with slime coming out when draining air, try adding a bit more air first. This helps release air all the way.

Change after 2 years
Good self sealing action, have got me home without knowing I’d had a puncture. The tell tale is a small green spot on the tyre where the sealant has cured and a slight loss in pressure.Good for about 2 years then the sealant becomes less effective ( the manufacturer recommends changing at this time)
