KellyCraft Get-It-Straight Laser Square Paper Craft Tool

I used it right away to make a scrapbook for my future granddaughter. Super easy to use and made a big difference.

The first time I used my Laser Square, it worked great. A few days later I was going to use it again but the light wouldn't come on. I thought that maybe I had forgotten to turn it off. I put in another battery. However it comes on but goes right back off. Of course I had already thrown the box away so I'm stuck with a do nothing square.

Not exactly what I thought it was going to be. This is probably my own fault. I just thought there would be more.

I am a it has to be straight scrapper (it drives me crazy). I thought this tool was going to be the answer to my crookedness . It did not help as easy as I expected. The laser line is good but the tool itself is bulky and not easy to use on a already embellished page. They should have made a laser line on the adjoining bar also. I would not recommend a friend to purchase now I would tell them to wait until they make additions and improvements to the tool first.

I find that I'm depending more and more on this tool to line up my projects to get them nice and straight. The laser tool fits nicely in sunken trenches in its counterpart, the KellyCraft Innovations MM12 Multi-Mat. And, the tool can easily be lifted off the mat and set aside when you need more workspace for something else. Although the tool would work with other mats, I think it's best to have the mat that was designed especially for it as they work together beautifully. I think I would be lost now without both items.I rated the laser tool with 4 stars because, if I'm to be honest, we had a rocky start. I had to exchange the first tool because it was off plumb by 1/8" (the laser beam shot out at an angle). The replacement tool works great. So my advice to anyone who is interested in buying this tool would be to feel comfortable doing so but not to settle on what you receive unless it's good and straight. A good quality measurement tool should work right out of the box, especially one named "Get-It-Straight."

They call it Get-It-Straight and mine was not straight! The laser was clearly off by about 1/8".

I was really excited for my laser square to arrive in the mail. I do a lot of pages with multiple photos aligned and I thought the laser square was going to significantly speed up how long it would take for me to assemble my pages. In theory the laser allows you to align elements like photos in a perfectly straight line without any measuring. However, I was very disappointed with the quality of the laser square design. The plastic piece that encases the laser has a fair bit of wiggle meaning that the laser line wasn't perfectly level (there was up to 1/8 of an inch difference from one side of my 12 x 12 paper to the other). Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist, but I can get things aligned to 1/8 an inch just by eye. So in theory this is a great tool, but in practice if you want perfectly straight elements aligned you may have trouble with the laser square. As another note it would be nice if there was a second laser on the other arm so items could be precisely placed at specific locations on the page.
