Excellent starter set!
Adding to our holiday train display my family has began to build models and custome pieces. We've never really had all the tools needed, so I ordered this set. I'm impressed by the paint and accessory cases. Just to be clear, paint is NOT included. I am very happy with the quality of most of the accessories. The polish files and snip sissors are just ok, but still work. The set as a whole is perfect for mature kids, teens, and adults who are building and painting minitures. It's an excellent value for the cases and all the items included.

Pretty good starter kit
Some of these tools were duplicates for me, but for someone new to model building this would be a great set of tools.Pros:- I like that the hobby knife has a cover- The clippers cut well- Tweezers seem precise and also have covers- The emery boards feel very high-gritCons:- No kind of cover for the clipper blades or snipping scissors, so some sharp bits are there and can kind of stab into the case/other tools as well- The emery boards are pretty big so it's hard to use them on any small models unless it's a big uncovered spot. They also don't quite fit in the case well so it feels like it pushes them into the other tools to get them in thereThe paint case is fine. It fits the tester paints as advertised even though they're circle cutouts instead of the squares in the listing pictures. They do not fit standard sized hobby paints, like Vallejo, which I was hoping for when I saw the circles. If tester-sized paints are all you use and you want a case for them, then this will do it, but it's not too flexible if you use mixed brands.

Overly Generic
Getting into models and minis, I needed a basic tool set, and this fit the bill, with bonus of some paint storage. I should have done a little more measuring however. The included paint storage really only fits Testors paints: Citadel, Reaper, Vallejo, and Tamiya all cannot be made to fit as is. With the foam removed, Tamiya and Citadel do fit, but there is nothing to keep them from banging into each other. Since I don't use Testors, this was my bad and not reflected in the score. The tools are the same basic tools you can find in most basic kits. So for a 30 USD total, I can find these for around 12 USD without the paint storage, which would then account for the extra 18 USD, so you'll have to decide for yourself if that is worth it.As far as quality, these tools are not a step up from the generic ones, but they still get the job done fine. Some of them feel a little flimsy, like the thread cutter/small nipper. The two filing boards don't fit in the included storage unless you lay them sideways, which is annoying, and are about the weight of nail files. The thread cutters and the snappers for plastic model kits both have very sharp parts and do not lock or close, and have no cover, which seems like a huge oversight. Definitely do not let children handle them unsupervised!Ultimately, I can't justify the 30 USD for the quality of what is included. You are better of buying paint storage and a small kit separately. Or buying individual tools for your particular needs.

Very complete model building kit (though I wish it came with the paint!)
Model enthusiast? This is for you!The last model I made was of the clipper, Cutty Sark. I cannot honestly say that I did a great job. But, I would have done a much better job if I had had this kit. There are two components to this kit. First, the hard shell case with the foam insert with pre-cut holes perfectly sized for Testor's model paint bottles. But, to me, the second case is the more useful one. It is filled with the tools you need to make your model building experience more enjoyable. To highlight just a few of the tools that I could have used when I made the Cutty Sark - an x-acto knife (with replacement blades!), files! - two emory board files but even better are the two metal files that will eliminate those rough edges you get from separating model pieces from the plastic holders they are sold in! There is a great tough and sharp clipper to separate each piece with precision. Now that i have this kit perhaps I'll have to repurchase the Cutty Sark model. I know this time I will have a much better outcome!

Things just fit like a glove.
This was designed perfectly. Hangs on to your Testors paint perfectly. The accoutrements that are included are just a bonus. If you're into model building and have limited space and don't like to leave your stuff out for the world to see, this is a neat way to tuck it away. Definitely a good value for the money. If you know a hobby builder, be it cars or Gunpla, this is a perfect gift for them. Highly recommended.
