God of Creation - Bible Study Book: A Study of Genesis 1-11

In Week 4 video lecture, I was not happy that Jen made a comparison of separation of people by different categories to current affairs about immigration in our country. This was a blatant political comment and did not need to be made and not a fair analogy. It now makes me wonder if I should continue to view her with the same eyes as before? Previously, I was happy with her study but now that she has injected politics into what should have been about the Bible, I am conflicted.

This struck me as a little basic. Maybe good for new Christians or people new to studying the Bible.

I purchased the God of Creation workbook this summer since I was not able to attend my church’s Bible Study. I have completed Jen’s two earlier studies and loved her teaching style. The content covered and her insights in all three Bible studies have all been wonderful and I have learned so much. I will add, as others reviews have, that it is beneficial to watch the weekly videos that accompany the study. I was fortunate enough to participate in the opportunity Lifeway provided this summer, which was to watch the videos at no cost and participate in the weekly online discussion. I would highly recommend this study (and her others) for small group study. I cannot wait for what she writes next!

Content is not great for a study on Genesis. It doesn’t focus enough on expanding specifically in depth in Genesis to be a strong, in depth book study. But it’s also not wide enough with context to be a broad study about how Genesis and the rest of the Bible ties together. Seems like a very poorly written study, marketed towards women, and has a video lesson to glorify the author (who is also not that great a speaker). Bible study groups and small group would be better off looking into Genesis studies by Community Bible Study (CBS), or BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), or even directed studies by Max Lucado or Zondervan Study guides.

This is a study that you need time for. It challenges your mind, body, and soul. I found it really hard to ask myself the deeper questions...it was truly a test of all other tests. This was a great study with my women's group. I loved it.

Amazing study that I did with my women's group. The book came in excellent condition, but the green ink on a couple pages was extremely faint and almost illegible. Overall it is an awesome study, and I would definitely recommend it!

I purchased this workbook to go through with 2 of my close friends this summer. We are just finishing up week 10 and we have all absolutely loved it!! I have access to the videos through our church's women's ministry and I reccomend that you also rent or purchase the video teaching by Jen. But even if you don't, this study is highly beneficial. Love, love, love!! Gets you really thinking and digging deep into what is familiar to many of us.

After doing all of Jen Wilkin's Bible Studies, I am a firm believer that God has anointed this woman to help others read, interpret accurately, learn and apply the Word in a way that leads to greater glorification of God! Highly recommend this and all other Jen Wilkin studies!

I love Jen Wilkin but I was disappointed to discover after purchasing this book that you then have to buy Jen’s online bible study talks that she had prepared to go along side it. The book on its own is not a study at all. The audio version of her talks are something like $26 and the video version is a fair bit more. Very disappointed.
